{long} smbd maxes CPU when returning user details and loops...
Hello all, I've been using Samba for a few years now and have finally come across a problem that I can't seem to sort out myself so I thought I'd use your intelligence instead... Heres the situation. I've got a Linux box (2.4.17) acting as a PDC for some dual boot Linux/NT boxen. Currently users have a single home directory (over NIS to Linux and Samba to Windows) with separate

Seemingly impossible bug: -v not always listing every copied file
If you are doing a small test run that duplicates the problem, you could use inotifywait or tail -f to watch the log in real time on another terminal. Maybe you'd see something like a line being overwritten, etc. I don't know what rsync would do with a file name that ends in a carriage return (not a newline). It's probably smart enough to handle it, but if it isn't, the current

Questions/suggestions about new staged installation
Hi, I was playing around with inotifywait (great tool!) to see the new staged installation of source packages in action. In one terminal I'm monitoring the create/delete/move events of the installation library with: ? inotifywait -m --timefmt '%F %T' --format '%T -- %w %e %f' -e create -e delete -e move path/to/R/library/ While in another terminal I install CRAN package

Creating a reverse socket often (not always) fails.
Hi, I'm a little stuck on getting reverse connection working reliably from embedded devices running dropbear 0.51 to Ubuntu 8.x openssh. Connecting to local reverse socket often fails (not always) with "ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host" My devices can reverse ssh and open a port on my server always, but often when the server is creating the reverse

`asterisk -x reload` does not working in `while` expression.
Hello, Reload extensions.conf works well both in CLI and excute `asterisk -x reload` in shell. But it does not working with `while` expression. [jamie@audible.transient.net: Bug#160155: gapless playback]
Jamie, I hear what you're saying. I don't believe this *should* be a plugin's responsibility, though it sounds like with XMMS it is. But I don't know how to fix it. Probably with enough archaeology into the XMMS source and other plugins I could find out. I'll file it in the feature requests and hope someone can get to it. Josh --- Matt Zimmerman <mdz@debian.org>

Strange problem with MS Office while saving
Hi all, I sometime have a strange behavior when using MS Office and saving files. First things first: - OS CentOS 6.7 x86_64 - SAMBA version 3.6.23, configured as member server (see [1] for full configuration) - inotifywait watching my shares to replicate them off-site - about 100 W7/W8 clients with MS Office 2010 Using inotifywait, I tracked how MS Office file save function works. Basically,

"ERR sshd: error: no more sessions" issue
Initially send this mail to user group. then realized this is more apt place. Apologies for posting in both groups... Hi all, We're using openssh version 4.7p on our linux 2.6-22 kernel. We have a Java based GUI that opens a secure shell connection to this linux box. To do something over the connection, the GUI opens a session (some times 3-4 simultaneous sessions) & once done, it will

RE: Error: "onclick() is not a function"
I see what he is saying now. When you assign a click event with the Event.observe it does not allow you to call it with the $(''xxx'').onclick(); command as it''s looking for the onclick tag in the a tag. I''m stumped on a way to get this to work. Jon Whitcraft Web Application Developer Online Services - Indianapolis Motor Speedway (317) 492-8623

Ransomware?
Would something like this help? I put a bunch of junk pictures and other files in a samba share that everyone has access to. If I modify them in any way, I get warned. I was thinking it might warn me so I could prevent it spreading to backups. #!/bin/sh $MY_EMAIL="some at email.com" $MY_DIR=/home/shared_to_everyone_via_samba/pictures_for_test_sub_folder while inotifywait -qre
