Win2k disconnects mapped samba shares
Hello, I stepped through the archives of this list, but could not find a thread dealing with exactly this problem we are experiencing here. Server HP-UX 10.20 Samba 2.0.6 security = domain deadtime = 500 ... that should be enough The win2k clients map a drive and everything is working fine. after a period of inactivity (about half an hour) win2k somehow disconnects the mapped drive and marks

Samba in win98 executing Solution 6 - Get error "password incorrect" and disconnected to mapped drive
Hello, We are running samba version 1.9.15p8 with 25 or so workstations. I've just added a new shared directory for an accounting software call "Solution 6" which is being migrated from a Novell server to a Unix server. This is the problem: I can see the shared directory of the server, and I can mount it and view the files in the mounted drive. All is well until of

random network disconnects
I'm experiencing a weird issue, and wondering if anyone has seen this, and better yet has a solution. At work we are getting lots of issues with 'permission denied' or 'network not found' and so forth when reading and writing between our machines and a file server. This happens randomly so the following function solves the problem for 'cat' commands: catSafer

SIP Disconnects from Network - Asterisk Does not hangup
Good day all! I have an issue which has plagued me for quite sometime now...and as I close in on its cause, I have reached a point where additional info would be greatly helpful! When a SIP device dials another SIP device...Asterisk connects the calls and displays the channel information. If one of those SIP devices hangs up, Asterisk receives the hangup notice and disconnects the call/channel.

randomly disconnected with imap, and latest hg
Hi! I'm using latest hg from the 1.1 branch, and noticed that since yesterday's updates, dovecot randomly disconnects clients when using imap, with these message in the log: "Disconnected for inactivity in reading our output bytes=153/41319" This happens randomly. Eg. I'm fetching messages, and suddenly, dovecot disconnects. Or my MUA just sits there, and then again,

3.0.25a closing network drive connections?
Since upgrading from 3.0.24 to 3.0.25a this past weekend, network drive connections are randomly being closed and immediately reopened. This creates "Delayed write failed" errors for Firefox and Thunderbird, various errors for Outlook with its PST files on network drives, and errors from programs like InDesign that "The network connection was lost for the file, or the file was

Problems with viewing directories on mapped network drive
Got a bit of an odd one folks.... I have a samba 2.3 server running on a Caldera Openlinux 2.3 box, it works great except for one thing that I am not sure whether is the issue of the application or a Samba one. It appears to be an application issue, but I can't help thinking there may be some other factor(s) involved here. On one of the client machines (win98) they are running Wordperfect

XP x64 will hang/bsod when using mapped network drive
Hi, I have a very strange problem with a new Windows XP Professional x64 client machine which will either hang or BSOD when I manipulate (move, copy, compress) a file on a mapped network drive BUT not when I navigate to the file through My Network Places i.e. selecting WORKGROUP -> FILESERVER -> Share2 -> Directory -> File. I have a mix of Windows PCs on my network including Win2K,

Puppet Windows - Mapped Network Drive and Service Account
On Windows 2008 R2 SP1, after joining to the domain, there is an issue with a mapped network drive when Puppet agent runs by the "LOCAL SYSTEM" service account. Using dependency chaining, a near the beginning module is "map-networkdrivez". The module execs a batch file that if Z:\ does not exist (not already mapped), maps Z:\ to a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 file server with a

Mapped network drive in wine.
First sorry for my bad English. I have a Windows software that needs to access a mapped network drive in Wine complains that he does not view the network drive (it needs to see this: / / server / folder). I tried to map the network drive using explorer.exe of Wine, but when I access the menu in "mapping the network drive" complains the error: "No network drive." I looked

Hello, I'd like to add rules (level workstation) for ignoring wlan reconnects/disconnects. The rules would ignore messages like this: May 12 11:02:16 t400 kernel: [13254.204101] No probe response from AP <MAC> after 500ms, disconnecting. May 12 11:02:16 t400 kernel: [13254.213029] cfg80211: Calling CRDA to update world regulatory domain May 12 11:02:16 t400 wpa_supplicant[3277]:

Perf difference between Windows mapped drive and UNC share accessing Samba share?
we're using Samba 3.0.10 on a Mac OS X server (XServe), and are accessing files on the XServe from Windows Server 2003. for the specific situation of creating thumbnails of images, i'm seeing a huge perf difference between accessing the same file via mapped drive vs. UNC path. if we map the Z: drive to \\usseast01\assetstorage (Z:\foo.tif), and create a thumbnail of a 1.5MB TIFF file,

RE: Random disconnects
Re-sent because had wrong subject line on first post, sorry. I have just installed * for a small office (P4 3Ghz, 1MB RAM, RH9). It's replacing an analog PBX, and for now, all incoming calls arrive on 10 FXO's. Outgoing calls are via Voicepulse. Phones are SIP, Cisco 7940G's. My problem is random disconnects on both incoming and outgoing calls. The phones are behind a firewall;

rsync on cygwin: can't access mapped network drive remotely

When I connect to a directory that resides on the computer, everything works great. When I connect to a directory that is a mapped UNC drive, rsync

Random Hangups/Disconnects
Well, I thought and hoped my issue of random hangups on our TDM400P were related to busydetect=yes in zapata.conf. The behavior of a call being hungup has not changed, however, since setting the busydetect option to 'no'. Again, the only affected user is my loud talker... What are some causes/solutions to seemingly random call disconnects on Zap channels that people have seen? I have

client disconnects after one song is played
I'm using the latest CVS source under Linux using a playlist of ogg files. When I use a client to connect on the same machine, there is not any disconnect (xmms and zinf). When using a client on a Windows machine, I get mixed results. Zinf on windows will play thru the current song but then stops when the song is finished and does not play the next song being streamed (see log below).
