Problems with viewing directories on mapped network drive
Got a bit of an odd one folks.... I have a samba 2.3 server running on a Caldera Openlinux 2.3 box, it works great except for one thing that I am not sure whether is the issue of the application or a Samba one. It appears to be an application issue, but I can't help thinking there may be some other factor(s) involved here. On one of the client machines (win98) they are running Wordperfect 6.1 (the old Novell version) and when they attempt to access a folder in the mapped home directory (from within WP's file browser dialogue) it shows nothing existing there, neither the mail folder or the copied over data folders. OTOH, browsing on the local machine works just fine. Also viewing the mapped drive in windows explorer or in MS Word 2000 shows everything just fine. Getting rid of WP6.1 is not an option at this point, although the machine has MS Office2000 installed and the person in question is slowly switching over to that instead. Any ideas folks, am I missing some setting in smb.conf to handle this? TIA Harondel J.
