any help installing 4.4 for s390 (or s390x) on Z9-BC?
I should start off by saying that I know a lot more about linux than I do z/series hardware.... I've tried centos 3.3 and 4.4 for s390 and s390x, if it make any difference.... Trying to install 4.4 on an lpar on a z9-BC and having trouble figuring out how to get the OSA adapter working. I've been told that when I ftp-boot from the iso image, I should choose "eth" for

side-by-side map with different geographies using spplot
Hello, I want to create side-by-side maps of similar attribute data in two different cities using a single legend. To simply display side-by-side census block group boundary (non-thematic) maps for Minneapolis & Cleveland I do the following: library(rgdal) library(sp) Minneapolis=readOGR("../Minneapolis/Census/2010/Census_BlockGroup_GEO/","tl_2010_27053_bg10")

Why won''t this box route ICMP echo reply packets???????
Hi All - I looked for mention of this in the archives but wasn''t able to find anything. This isn''t even an advanced routing question, it should be a dirt-simple, basic, no-brainer, routine routing job. But I''m not getting it! I have a Linux iptables based firewall system that is making me crazy. The gist of the problem is, even when I turn off all firewall rules

Conflict between 'nlme' and 'methods' on R-1.5.0 ?
Hi there! I use R with the packages 'nlme' and 'methods'.Upon upgrading to R1.5.0, I got the following message when loading nlme (after having loaded 'methods'): The following object(s) are masked from package:methods : initialize After that, when I use my class definitions and scripts(which worked fine in 1.4.1) I get the following error message when a

polypath winding rule with transparency
Hello, it's probably worth adding that this is not a problem with pathGrob, only polypath. This code is sufficient to demonstrate the problem in Windows. ## overlapping, both clock-wise x <- cbind(c(.1, .1, .6, .6, NA, .4, .4, .9, .9), c(.1, .6, .6, .1, NA, .4, .9, .9, .4)) ## only a problem on Windows windows() and png() plot(x);polypath(x, rule = "winding", col =

Problem with adding a raster and a brick
This is now fixed in development on RForge, you can try it out by installing from there, or from the Github mirror with devtools::install_github("rforge/raster/pkg/raster"). (To get fixes into raster email the maintainer directly - you might not get a response but it'll be addressed). Cheers, Mike. Status of latest round of Allison recordings
Just wanted to catch everybody up. So many people contributed to the work list that I'd probably miss several if I tried to notify just them. Many people contributed funds, too, which I greatly appreciate. We were able to get the entire list done, which added up to two full hours of work on Allison's part. And that's just the recordings -- I'm doing the editing myself. Which

empirical (sandwich) SE estimate in lme ()?
Is it possible to get the empirical (sandwich) S.E. estimates for the fixed effects in lme () (thus allowing possibly correlated errors within the group)? In SAS you can get it by the 'empirical' option to PROC MIXED. Cheers, Michael -- Na (Michael) Li, Ph.D. Division of Biostatistics A443 Mayo Building, MMC 303 School of Public Health 420 Delaware

Fwd: win32/process - small bug?
It might be a bit before I can get to this, so I thought I''d pass it on. Also, while I was stuck in the airport in Minneapolis, I decided that the getrlimit method should be refactored to remove the process from the job (if it wasn''t already in one) after it''s finished, if possible. Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Larry, I have not edited a single file, including anything to do with NUT, on the Synology via ssh.... ever. How is yours configured in the UI? Do you have it set to go into safe mode after a certain number minutes? Earlier, I was just copying and pasting the contents of some files to Roger but did not change anything. -- Todd Benivegna // todd at benivegna.com On Aug 14, 2020, 8:16 AM -0400,

How to change Domain password as normal user?
Still having daily problems. Yesterday, again, I reset the user password from the AD/DC as the domain administrator: samba-tool user setpassword mark Today, I was unable to log in. [FORGED] Re: polypath winding rule with transparency
Hi Just to clarify, I think this IS a problem with grid.path() as well as polypath(). For the example you give, grid.path() diverts to drawing a polygon (because there is no 'id' specified), and the NAs in 'x' generate two separate polygons, which get drawn one on top of the other. The correct analogy to the polypath() example is ... x2 <- matrix(x[!is.na(x)], ncol=2)

Fwd: Newbie here. Tips on setting up 100 phones wanted.
So in order to answer the background and backbone questions here is the system as it is. I hope this isn't too much for the list but I'll post it in response to a few inquiries. The current system is quite interesting. We have an office in a town that is about 50 miles from the ski area. The ski area is powered 100% of of generators and the telephone access and internet access goes from

7206 as SIP->PSTN Gateway?
All, I know you can use, say, a 2620 w/2 port FXO card as a SIP gateway. Clearly you can use the 5300, 5800, and MGX8850 too. Does anyone know which cards, if any, exist for a 7206VXR to act in a similar capacity, either as a T1/PRI, DS3, or POTS FXO/FXS? What other Cisco routers can act as SIP gateways today? Thanks, Dave

Problem with RMySQL-0.5-3.zip/R 2.0.0 on Windows XP
I have been installing and using the RMySQL package, version 0.5-3 with R versions 1.9.0 and 1.9.1 on Windows XP without any problem. I installed the package using the .zip binary package available at http://stat.bell-labs.com/RS-DBI/download/index.html. However, I ran into a problem using this package with the latest version 2.0.0 of R. The installation went ok, but loading the library using
