help recovering vms
I could use some help trying to recover VMs on a system that used to run
xen-3.0.0 under sarge. The host (Domain0) bit the dust, so I rebuilt it
using SUSE Linux 10.1 which has xen-3.0.2-2 packages. xend is running
and I can do xm list, xm info and so on.
It still sees the LVM volume groups that the VM data resides on. My VMs
are sitting on /dev/vg20/vol01, /dev/vg20/vol03 ....
Because I lost

btrfs: sdb1 checksum verify failed
Hi,
I've created an test enviroment for btrfs 0.11. The aim of the test is
to compare speed of btrfs to ext3, reiserfs, jfs, xfs, etc.
I've created an 70 GB partition for btrfs, created btrfs filesystem on
it, which is currently mounted under /data. I put the kernel source tree
of Linux 2.6.24 to the btrfs, make allyesconfig, and i've created the
following script:

Oops when mounting btrfs partition
As mentioned on Google+, I have a partition that I can no longer mount
normally, containing a lot of my personal data and all backups from
my laptop.
I found now that I am still able to mount it using the ''nospace_cache''
option, but it takes a couple of minutes and I get "INFO: task

Issue with Adaptec AIC79XX module and 2.6-xen kernel
I have an Adaptec 392320 Ultra320 SCSI adapter. I am running x86_64
SLES9 SP3. When I build x86_64 Xen with just the 2.6-xen kernel +
initrd, I am getting the following error on the module load.
But if I go back to building separate xenU and xen0 kernels without
initrd the device works without any issues. Any idea what is going wrong
here? Am I leaving something out of my initrd?
Here is the

festival and gcc 3.3.2 (Fedora Core 1)
Can someone tell me how to build festival on a machine with gcc 3.3.2?
I've searched all around and even found a reference or two that the
problem exists but I'm not seeing the fix.
thanks!

Emergency - Samba Performance Consultant Required (2 hours - $500)
Hello,
I am in need of a Samba Performance Consultant immediatley.
My box is just not fast enough, and I still have 8 business hours left.
Consultant should recommend:
- fastest Samba options for our setup
- fastest Linux kernel options / sysctl parameters
- fastest Windows client options / registry settings
I expect to pay $500 for 2 hours of your time. You should be an expert.

Printing: Access denied, unable to connect
I have been having a printing problem recently on a setup that has worked
for quite some time. Configs below. The symtoms are slightly different
on a W2K and a WinME workstation, but the result is the same; no printed
output. However, when I print from the local Unix server or from any
other Unix server in the network the output is as expected.
The W2K machine reports 'Access denied,

I'm running Samba 3.0.23c-3 on Debian Testing (Etch_) with kernel

reiserfs filesystem mounted with the acl and user_xattr attributes.
I have this box connected to a native mode Active Directory Domain with
kerberos and winbind, which are working correctly. I

Problems creating DomUs with large memory system/PAE enabled
All.
I am running Xen on an ES7000 system with 4 procs and 4 GB memory.
I am running Suse Sles-9 (32-bit) on the machine.
I have compiled Xen (the tip on the unstable tree : 6552) with PAE
enabled (XEN_TARGET_X86_PAE=y).
The system boots fine.
I started xend and when I tried to bring up a virtual machine, the
system gave me the following error on the command line.
On the serial port, I saw an

[PATCH v8 1/6] reiserfs: Switch to security_inode_init_security()
From: Roberto Sassu <roberto.sassu at huawei.com>
In preparation for removing security_old_inode_init_security(), switch to
security_inode_init_security(). Commit 572302af1258 ("reiserfs: Add missing
calls to reiserfs_security_free()") fixed possible memory leaks and another
issue related to adding an xattr at inode creation time.
Define the initxattrs callback

It turns out this all happened because of a brand new network switch. We put
the old one back in out of desperation and, BAM, all the problems went away.
There were no other symtoms that pointed at that switch so we didn't suspect
it all.

Samba malformed ACL
Hi guys,
I've got a Samba PDC configured, with authenticating off an LDAP backend.
My client is trying to set permissions through Windows, and for some reason
no matter what I try the "everyone" group is always showing up as having
access.
When an admin user tries to set permissions on the share through windows I
get the following errors in my /var/log/messages

GlusterFS, move files, Samba ACL...
[ Received no feedback, i resend it... ]
A little strange things, but i'm hitting my head on the wall...
I needed to 'enlarge' my main filesystem (XFS backed-up), that contain my
main samba share and a brick for a GFS share; i've setup a new volume (for
the VM), formatted XFS, move all the file taking care to umount and stop GFS
(so, syncing the brick, not the GFS filesystem)

[PATCH v7 0/6] evm: Do HMAC of multiple per LSM xattrs for new inodes
From: Roberto Sassu <roberto.sassu at huawei.com>
One of the major goals of LSM stacking is to run multiple LSMs side by side
without interfering with each other. The ultimate decision will depend on
individual LSM decision.
Several changes need to be made to the LSM infrastructure to be able to
support that. This patch set tackles one of them: gives to each LSM the
