general question about plotting multiple regression results
Hi all, I have been bumbling around with r for years now and still havent come up with a solution for plotting reliable graphs of relationships from a linear regression. Here is an example illustrating my problem 1.I do a linear regression as follows summary(lm(n.day13~n.day1+ffemale.yell+fmale.yell+fmale.chroma,data=surv)) which gives some nice sig. results Coefficients:

make func_realtime work like app_realtime (1.6)
Yell at me if you will, but I hate func_realtime - it's not very usable nor is it change-friendly (update your database and your dialplan completely breaks). I'm getting a new 1.6 box built out and working, and wanted to emulate the functionality of APP_realtime somehow, so I started digging around in the func_realtime source - here's what I came up with: For 1.6.0, look at line 86

Asterisk receives busy..but its not...
I'm guessing this is a problem with the phone itself. We all have Cisco 7960s with 7.3 firmware. I can yell down the hall at 3091 and say "are you on the phone?" and she yells back "no". But when I try and call her extension, I get this: -- Executing Dial("SIP/3044-8eb6", "SIP/3091|15") in new stack -- Called 3091 -- Got SIP response 486 "Busy

Any more details on Lance? (just curious; no pressure)
A friend of mine sent me this link: http://linux.slashdot.org/story/09/07/30/130249/CentOS-Project-Administrator-Goes-AWOL I went to the main page and read the letter and the "Facts." Are there any more details, mainly along the lines of CentOS sticking around - I know you folks all work really hard on this, and you know better than me how many others depend on you - but - there's

Samba 3.0.20 and ADmitMac
Does anyone have any experiences with integrating Samba and Thursby Software's ADmitMac? All of our Microsoft XP and Win2000 workstations work just fine with Samba, but I'm having a hell of a time getting ADmitMac to play nicely with Samba. Conversely, ADmitMac works great with Microsoft NT4, 2000 and 2003 servers. I'm not able to browse the network let alone join the OSX machines

Illegal filename characters
Does anyone have a solution for the problem of file and directory names containing characters which are OK in DOS/Windows but illegal (or at least unwise) in Unix? I have Windows clients who have written directory names containing "$" characters to Samba shares on a Solaris box. This is fine for the clients, but plays havoc with Solaris programs needing to access the files, eg. backups

Illegal characters in filename?
I have a server that uses both NFS and Samba. I noticed on a Windows client that some directories and files were in the 8.3 format, and clicking on them resulted in an "Access denied." message. I've since upgraded to 3.5.0 - now the "Access denied." message is gone and I can enter and open files, but all of the names are shown in the 8.3 format and are almost unreadable. I

Most efficient way to create a CentOS 3 test VM
I'm about to create a new CentOS 3 VM for testing, since we still have a bunch of deployed machines running that OS. (Don't yell at me about using old OSes. These machines won't get "un-deployed" until they fall over dead of natural causes. Until the last one dies, we need test and build VMs around to service them.) I have the CentOS 3.9 *.iso files plus a local cache

domains paused without any obvious reason
Hi, i have a two node HA-Cluster with several domains as resources. Currently it's running in test mode. Some domains (all on the same host) stopped running, virsh list shows them as "paused". All stopped at the same time (11th of may, 7:00 am), my monitoring system began to yell. I don't have any clue why this happened. virsh domblkerror says for all the domains (5) "no

Voice Activation Level (speex 1.1.11.1)
Sorry. I forgotten the words volume or loudness. But it is know as microphone stroke too, i think. If something can tell me something about that procedure it would complete my pleasure. To bring back memories, i only wanted to know wheather i can change a variable that holds the sound intensity (loudness) needet to start "encoding >> sending" if the speex codec is in voice

Patch for OpenSSH/mmap() on Linux 2.2
A colleague was having trouble running OpenSSH 3.3p on his server. He, like many of us, has been clobbered by the mighty security penis of Theo De Raadt into enabling "privsep". But on some Linux 2.2 kernels, this is broken. Apparantly, OpenSSH "portable" relies on non-POSIX compliant mmap() features. Making the mmap() call in monitor_mm.c look something like this:

Experimenting with Git and GitHub
This is by no means official yet, but I put together a proof-of-concept svn-to-git conversion of the NUT source tree: https://github.com/clepple/nut If you are interested in experimenting with the repository, feel free to clone it, but if we identify any problems with the Git import from SVN, be forewarned that I might blow away this repository and start over. In particular, I guessed at some

Apple shares?
Hi, I have a need to do some file transfers between my AIX 4.3.3 boxes and Apple PC's. I use SAMBA to provide shares to PC's, but I know nothing about Apple. FTP is an option, but less desirable than setting up a share. Does anyone have experience with using SAMBA to set up shares with Apple clients? I know that there are, other products to accomplish what I ask, but in terms of support

Dissapearing samba servers
Hi I've seen a couple of people post this problem, but I've never seen an answer, and now it's happenning to me. I run Solaris 2.5.1, and samba-1.9.17p1. Every so often a pc can look in the network neighborhood and the samba server just isn't there, though you can still map a network drive by using a UNC pathway: \\server\share so the share is still out there but the server
