Error; contrasts can be applied only to factors with 2 or more levels
Hi,
I have been running the same code without problem for the last few days,
changing data sets etc with no issue.
Today I changed the covariates for the model and am now getting this error
message:
Error in `contrasts<-`(`*tmp*`, value = contr.funs[1 + isOF[nn]]) :
contrasts can be applied only to factors with 2 or more levels
Everything in the code looks the same to me, but I'm a

we're not using LDAP but we can manipulate the trivial
data base file "secrets.tdb" to set the locl SID to
any sensible SID.
Is it OK to set the local SID to the same value as
the domain SID?
In our network the PDC server has the same local SID

known problems with Debian 3.0.14a-3sarge1 ?
Hi,
are there any known problems with Debian's Samba version
3.0.14a-3sarge1 ? I read about client/server connection problems. Are
there any reasons, why not to use 3.0.14a-3sarge1 version or should I go
to Version 3.0.22-0bpo1 from backports.org?
Thanks,

Big problems with 3.0.24-6etch6 Debian packages
Hi,
I'm using Samba as a PDC with roaming profiles on a Debian Etch machine,
the clients are Windows XP/2000 machines.
I just installed security upgrades with aptitude, and this upgraded all
samba 3.0.24-6etch4 packages to 3.0.24-6etch6 (except for samba-doc
which was upgraded to 3.0.24-6etch7).
Immediately after the upgrade, my users could not load their profiles at
login anymore. Errors

Aplication slow after migration
Hi, everybody!
I have been using samab on Debian for years and I have recently migrated
my file server from version 3.0.14a-3sarge2 to 3.0.24-6etch4.
One or our applications stores its data in a shared folder. This data is
distributed in over 29000 files of about 1k-40k and is so much slower
when it runs on the new server.
I have thoroughly revised both smb.conf files, but can't see

Is there a way to rename all entry in tdb before classicupgrade?
tdbtool passdb.tdb list show something like
hash=0

Upgrading from samba-3.0.34 to 3.4.4 - result: domain controller unavailable
Hi.
Today I upgraded samba from 3.0.34 to 3.4.4 without changing anything in
smb.conf but with changing local and domain sid:
old samba 1) net getdomainsid and getlocalsid
new samba 2) net setdomainsid and setlocalsid to ones (both the same)
from 1)
after restarting samba I can't log into domain: XP says : domain
controller unavailable ... I tried to rejoin domain - and I can ;)

schannel_store.tdb appearing in /etc/samba
Hi,
I just upgrade from Debian Sarge to Etch. Now, while Samba (3.0.24-6etch4) is
running, it creates the schannel_store.tdb /etc/samba. However, it should
really store it into the "private dir", which is supposed to be /var/lib/samba
as I see files like passdb.tdb in there. Any idea what's going on?
In addition, "private dir" is not defined in smb.conf. I don't know

Need proper steps for correct use of net setlocalsid
Hi, all.
I have discovered that I botched a migration from a 2.2.8a Samba PDC to
Samba 3.3.4; in particular the domain sid was not preserved. Users of the
domain have been authenticating presumably against cached local machine
credentials, mapping them to their old domain SIDS. That's ultimately how I
discovered the domain SID had been trashed - every machine started showing
unmapped users

Want to recreate db.
Hiya

The next thing I saw was all the Linux system account (irc, game, mail,
etc) listed via pdbedit and srvtool's
I think I have done something wrong. I would like to start from scratch
and clear restart the tdb's
My question is, can I just delete the tdb files. If not,

migrating Samba PDC to a new server
Hi,
I'd like to migrate Samba 3.0.24-6etch10 PDC running on a Debian server to a
new
Ubuntu server. I plan to install Samba 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.4 on the new server
and
then copy the files in /etc/samba and /var/lib/samba and copy the related
Linux
users in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. Will it work?
Thanks in advance!

How can I change the localSID for a SAMBA Server?
I am trying to change the localSID for a SAMBA server, however I am unable
to. I have tried the command "net setlocalsid" to no avail. To troubleshoot
I have also stopped the smbd and nmbd services, but this did not help. Any
help would be great!

Moving a Samba PDC from Solaris 2.8 to CentOS 4.4
Hello,
I try to move a Samba-PDC (3.0.24) from Solaris 2.8 to CentOS 4.4 with the
guidance from:

At the moment I am trying this in a test environment. This means the
following (not the real names/IPs. Just for illustration ;-)):

same.
All this below regards samba on debian etch: 3.0.24-6etch4

know I can locally on server add another ACL entries on files in that

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED when issuing smbclient -k
Hi Rowland,
I tried to set that option but still same result.
I recreated the setup in old debian wheezy 7.11 and it's working.
set the log level = 10
'abcd' is the user account
then i noticed this in /var/log/samba/log.10.0.2.15 = the ip of the samba server, i am issuing the smbclient in the samba server itself.
