Hello, I am running a small network, Win., FreeBSD (Unix), & Macs., administering through SWAT. Needing to run an intranet I installed an Apache 1.3 HTTP server running in standalone mode. Now I have lost the ability to access SWAT through the http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:901 port. Guess it requires some special configuration of the server - SWAT runs in inetd mode, will this cause a conflict?

Hello, I seem to be having a performance problem with rsync. I have done some testing of rsync and ftp. If I do a transfer (either way) with ftp, I get about 500 Kbytes/sec. Using rsync to do the same transfer (either way) I only get about 50 Kbytes/sec. I am only testing straight file copies. There is a firewall which I believe is configured properly. I have a very simple setup here that I have recently made some modifications to and it has affected my ability to save files to the linux samba server. The recent changes are: converted all fs's to xfs from ext3. Upgraded to latest kernel 2.6.7 from a 2.4 kernel. Samba used to work fine. Now, I can copy files out of my linux samba server to my windows machine at full speed. However, when

Hi If I add a specific machine to my hosts allow list in the global section of my smb.conf, then that machine can access any of the shares on that server. If I only add the machine to a hosts allow list in a specific share, when I try and connect to that share from that machine I get an error : 'Specified computer did not recieve your request' and in log.smb : 'Connection denied from
