adddriver rpc command generates segmentation fault
Hi, I'm trying to add a printer driver to samba 2.2.7, part of the RedHat 9 distro. I have all the associated files under print$/W32X86 (I verified that they were where I thought they were from samba's POV by looking via smbclient). Below is the output from a getdriver command issued to a W2K PDC to get the names of all the required files for the particular printer: [Windows NT x86]

rpcclient adddriver WERR_BADFILE
I'm not having any luck using the rpcclient adddriver functions to install windows point-and-print drivers into print$. The add printer wizard fails after copying the files to \\SERVERX\print $\W32X86 so I am trying to install using rpcclient to see if it tells me anything more. I'm using the cups v6 drivers to test with. I get the same thing trying my HP Laserjet 2100 drivers.

Samba4 CUPS: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED opening remote file
I'm setting up cups printing with Samba 4.0.5. I downloaded both the windows drivers and the postscript drivers and put them into /usr/share/cups/drivers/. I configured cups through the web interface. Created a printer and printed a test page. I edited smb.conf and put in the necessary entries for cups printing: [global] ... load printers = yes

Printing in Wine
I'm using RH 7.1 with 20011108. Wine is running well with the few simple apps that I use with it. The only problem that I'm having is with printing. I've followed the somewhat conflicting instructions that I've found around the web to use the internal PS driver and at least gotten that much to show up in the dialog box on WinSpice3. However, when I attempt to print I get

Linux Queue on Print Manager
I'm using Samba 2.0.5a on Debian Linux. I'm capable of printing through Samba to the jet direct card of my HP LaserJet 4si, It prints flawlessly, but I never see anything in the Print Manager on my NT workstation, not so much as a flicker. I'd like to completely stop using NT as a print server, but I can not do that until we have easy control of the print queue. clip from printcap:

Client connection problem
I've been banging my head on this for two days now ! Everything checks out cool on the server, however I can't get the client to connect. I've gone through a number of troubleshooting docs and all lead me to suspect the hosts allow entry, however, even if I allow everyone on the network, I still get the below error msgs. Server: scooby - FreeBSD 4.5 running Samba 2.2.2 Client :

Rpcclient "adddriver" issue
Hi All, I am experiencing a problem with using the rpcclient "adddriver" command, the error response says something like: " lsa_io_sec_qos: length c does not match size 8" I received this message with debug level 3 and the adddriver command. How should I interpret this message? I thought it might be a dos filename (i.e., 8.3) issue since my driver filenames are over 8

Red Hat 7.1 installation
Please excuse what is probably a dumb question from a newbie. I'm trying to upgrade to samba 2.2.7a. When I attempt to install the RPM, I get a series of about 50 errors all in this format: <path><file name> from install of samba-2.2.7a conflicts with file from package samba-2.0.7-36. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

rpcclient / adddriver returns WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi, I am trying to prepare downloadable printer drivers for Windows-Clients with Samba 3.0.0-final. Everything worked fine so far. But I found no way to add the printer driver files to the samba database. The method using the Add Printer Wizard in W2k did not work for me. This is what I tried: linux4:/# rpcclient -U'root%secret' -c 'adddriver "Windows NT x86"
