[wishlist, patch] Removing .bzr/ directory when calling R CMD build (PR#10625)
Full_Name: Ben Goodrich
Version: 2.6.1
OS: Debian
Submission from: (NULL) (128.103.222.166)
bzr is another version control system and adds a .bzr folder to the top-level
directory of a package, similar to .svn and .git for subversion and git
respectively. However, while R CMD build removes directories called .svn, .git,
and some others, it does not remove .bzr . As a result, the .bzr folder is

WINEDLLPATH weirdness
Hi all,
I'm using the Linux to MinGW cross compiler toolchain to build
windows binaries for one of my libraries. I'm also trying to
run the cross-compiled binaries that make up the test suite
under wine version 0.9.58 from ubuntu hardy heron.
The DLL for my library gets built as:
/home/erikd/Bzr/libsndfile-mingw/src/.libs/libsndfile-1.dll
and the test suite binaries get built in:

Server patching DC stopped working
Hello,
I have been running Samba4 on a Ubuntu 12.10 for a few months.
Using this setup script,
I have also been using PBIS (Open-wise 7.1) to connect Linux clients to
it. I have has this setup for serveral months.
Now if I connect to a windows computer I get access denied and it still
works on linux via PBIS.
If I login to the windows computer with a local account, I can

[LLVMdev] About setting up official git & bzr mirrors.
Due to a current need to have a git mirror for LLVM, I'm resurrecting this old thread.
I'm aware that there exist already LLVM git mirrors at git://repo.or.cz/llvm.git and git://github.com/earl/llvm-mirror.git However, these repositories only mirror the current SVN trunk and do no provide any branch and tag information, which would be very convenient for creating experimental branches

Strange behaviour with global variable in C
I understand global variables can be a bad idea, but even so I would like to
understand what is going on here...
### DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM ###
...I have a strange bug on a global variable in some C code which I am compiling
using
$ MAKEFLAGS="CFLAGS=-g -O0" R CMD SHLIB myProgram.c
the global variable in question is the log likelihood. In an old version of the

[LLVMdev] About setting up official git & bzr mirrors.
Time ago when the svn server was crawling due to massive hammering from
people mirroring the repo, someone said that after the 2.6 release we
could discuss creating official mirrors for those who work with svn
clients based on distributed VCSs such as git and bazaar.
Such mirrors increase productivity (facilitating experimentation and
parallel tasks, allowing off-line work) and even lessens the

Rsync stops in the middle of a large transfer
Hello everyone. I am having trouble with rsync stopping in the middle of a
transfer. Everything works fine for smaller batches of file, but when I try
to rsync big groups, it just stops in the middle.
I have been using rsync to copy my home directory to an SD card. I recently
got a Drobo+Droboshare (NAS) and want to do the same thing to the Drobo, but
when I run rsync, it stops somewhere in

Fwd: [Vorbis-dev] Flash Vorbis player
Hey everyone, I saw over on the Vorbis-Dev list that they ported Ogg
Vorbis over to Flash. Just wondering if this would be possible for
Speex, and also if you have considered an iPhone implementation. I
know that Apple is really hesitant to anger AT&T, but with Google's
Android, VOIP on cell phones is just around the corner. Ironically
voice bandwidth is set to go way down

[LLVMdev] LLVM's Link Time Optimizer integrated into GNU ld
Hello,
I have a very early version of GNU's ld, part of GNU binutils, with LLVM's
Link Time Optimization integrated with it. This allows the linker to link
LLVM bytecode and native objects together into a single executable. It is
still very early in development, and I'll be working on doing more robust
testing on it in the upcoming weeks, but it at least handles simple cases.

[LLVMdev] About setting up official git & bzr mirrors.
Launchpad already maintains bzr mirrors:
http://code.launchpad.net/llvm
The mirrors are the lp:~vcs-import branches (a specific launchpad user used
for automatically mirroring branches).

Flash Vorbis player
Hi,
I wanted to let you know that I have just made available the sources
to the ogg + vorbis implementation in haXe, which I've been working on
for last couple of weeks. The code compiles to an swf file playable in
Flash Player 10.
A demo of a simple player implementation (latest Flash 10 required):

Time for a distributed VCS?
Recently, I've been working on tools for doing high-quality conversions
of project histories from centralized version-control systems like
Subversion to modern decentralized systems like git and hg.
To see what I mean by "high quality", take a look at my DVCS migration
guide: <http://www.catb.org/esr/dvcs-migration-guide.html>. A really
good conversion should, for example,

Mirroring R on a DVCS
Hi,
I have been looking at mirroring the SVN R repository into a DVCS
(Mercurial, Git, bzr, etc...).
The idea would be to have that as an always up-to-date untouched master
(a mirror) but having it in a DVCS would make forks easier to make and
maintain, and possibly ease up the process of having patches included
upstream.
Would anyone else be interested ?
