security = ads --> invalide user
Hello
I try to run SAMBA with security = ads on AIX 5.3 with SAMBA 3.0.23d.
"net ads join" was successful and the machine is now visible in the Domain
with the netbios name.
When I try to access the shares on the machine the log.smbd files says:

SAMBA on AIX --> nsswitch.conf?
Hi
I am still trying to run SAMBA on AIX with "security = ads" and I have
a few questions:
- on AIX is no such file as /etc/nsswitch.conf --> Do I have to add
the configuration somewhere else?
- I allways get this "User xy is invalid on this system" if try to map
a share from Windows. What does this mean? Is the user invalid on the
Domain? on AIX? on SAMBA? Is the User

IP addressing migration
Hi,
I am changing the IP addressing in my centOS server which works as mail
server. The question I have is, if I define the new IP addresses
(sub-interfaces) on the server, can I work with both ranges at the same time
despite I have only one default gateway configured? (on the old range)
Or may I have two default gateways in centOS?

SAMBA under window?
Hi,
I am thinking a network configuration where a SAMBA server is
installed in a window machine so that the web server on that window
machine can talk to linux devices. Is it possible, or it is a stupid
idea?
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Jim

cached logons
Hi. I can't do cached logons in our new samba server.
I had a dead crashed W2k server quickly replaced by samba-3.
That meant create a new domain, restore backups and add all the
PCs to the domain. It was impossible to ressurrect the old MS server.
Anyway I'm facing a problem about cached logons. There is no way
to make it work. I've been reading all the entries in the mailing
list

any plans on getting psexec / cmdat equivalent to Samba?
Hello !
If anybody want`s to implement the psexec unix port or samba equivalent,
maybe taking a look at xCmd from Zoltan Csizmadia at
http://www.codeguru.com/Cpp/I-N/network/remoteinvocation/article.php/c5433/
may help a LOT and is a very good example. (This one seems to work similar
like psexec - but it is available with sourcecode!)
I don`t know if the author is still reachable via this

I don`t know if there is a port of psexec for unix yet (haven`t followed the list for some time) - but since it has been discussed on this list several times and i didn`t find any news about the current state of the "psexec unix port"- i`d like to tell that i found a psexec equivalent by chance - WITH SOURCECODE INCLUDED !

Logon script with Administrator rights
I am using a .bat logon script (the same for all users) and it avoids that I
have to configure each user manually. But now I have to run a command that
requires administrator rights on two files, and the command I write in the
.bat file doesn't work.
Do you know how to run the logon script as the local machine Administrator?
After all, the logon script is on the server and only me can
