turn regression coefficients into matrix or...
I don't have much experience with r. What I am trying to do is to turn
regression coefficients (after I run a lm or glm model) into some matrix
such that I can do some post-estimation calculation, for example predicted
probabilities in glm model, etc.. Or, is there any function in r that I can
use to do something along that line? thanks.

whoops, corrupted my filesystem
Hi all-
I corrupted my filesystem by not doing a RTFM first... I got an automated
email that the process monitoring the SMART data from my hard drive detected
a bad sector. Not thinking (or RTFMing), I did a fsck on my partition-
which is the main partition. Now it appears that I've ruined the
superblock.
I am running Fedora Core 6. I am booting off the Fedora Core 6 Rescue CD in

yet another wbinfo & getent problem
Hello,
I am running a RHEL5 server as a member in a NT4 domain. I am not using
an AD.
my nsswitch.conf and /etc/pam.d/{login,authconfig,samba} are configured
accordingly.
(auth-config in RHEL4 is now renamed to authconfig on RHEL5).
My problem is that wbinfo -u & wbinfo -g work fine, but getent passwd
only returns local linux users;
Also smbclient -L localhost -Uusers will only work

Hi to all.
I'm experimenting with running a

Possible?
Linux kernel aarch64 5.6.10.
Because Nvidia did not list drivers for this architecture, I'm
experimenting with a nouveau driver.
The Jetson TX2 has a default driver for the host1x framebuffer for output

Only admin user can print?
Hi all,
after upgrading a FC3 box to FC4 which comes with Samba 3.0.23a rpm's, I
have the really strange effect that /only/ "admin users" can print to
printers shared by the Samba server. Even a double click on the printer
in Win gives an "access denied".
The access to "normal" shares (homes etc.) still works fine. Any idea
what went wrong? How could I debug

rtp payload lenth
Hello to all speex developers,
I have question regarding payload length of narrowband speex in RTP.
I were watching tcpdump of the xlite softphone and have found that
it uses weird payload length namely 75 Bytes
I went through various source and without success.
To be clear:
For 8000Hz sample in 20 ms that is 160 samples per frame.
This makes 50 frames per sec.

3.0.23b -> 3.0.23c
I portupgraded my working 3.0.23b PDC on FreeBSD 5.5 to 3.0.23c and found
that all workstations could not login. The log file reads:
get_md4pw: Workstation PC01$: no account in domain
I ran pdbedit -L, and it returned nothing. I use tdbsam backend; all user
accounts show up fine with 3.0.23b. Now they are missing. I deinstalled
3.0.23c and switched back to 3.0.23b. Everything is then back

SPEEX tech specs
Thank you. You're right ... my error ... I meant
to say 12 bytes (including the 2 bytes for VAD).
And it is 10ms/frame. No matter ... thank you for
the SPEEX specs. In terms of quality, what SPEEX
bit rate compares with G.729 at 8kbps data rate
please? Is there some reason why you chose the
20ms frame rate? Do you keep that same frame rate
for the different bit rates? The faster frame

initialise_wins failing - failed to open wins.tdb
Hi Guys,
Since the automatic fedora update to 23c I'm having problems with samba
crashing when a share access is attempted. However, I also notice that
the nmbd daemon isn't being started up properly (though its startup
script, through init.d, shows it as starting up OK).
The error that is being shown in the logs is:

SPEEX tech specs
Thank you Jean-Marc.
My understanding is that G.729 is a telephone
codec, so there must have been some reason why
its developers went to 10ms/frame. Do you know why that might be?
From a recent post on this list I saw somebody
talking about your decoded sample rate being
8KHZ/sec. and then he mentioned that being 160
bytes at 20ms/frame. That said, I take it that
your decoded samples are

Removing variables from data frame with a wile card
I am new to this thread. At the risk of presenting something that has been shown before, below I demonstrate how a column in a data frame can be dropped using a wild card, i.e. a column whose name starts with "th" using nothing more than base r functions and base R syntax. While additions to R such as tidyverse can be very helpful, many things that they do can be accomplished simply

Tukey post hoc comparison (glht?) after 3factorial mixed model (lmer)
Hello, dear R-community.
This is a question about TukeyHSD between factor combinations of a Three-Way
ANOVA, which is - since it is a multi measure ANOVA - not a simple ANOVA but
a Generalised Linear Mixed Model (GLMM), calculated with "lmer".

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
