Email/GroupWare Suite
Just wanted to get some thoughts from the list..... We are a public k-12 school and are looking to migrate to a groupware style system for out staff to collaborate better. Currently we are using Squirrelmail/postfix for email. Does anyone have any recommendations/opinions. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Recommended Groupware?
Hi, is there a recommended groupware (email + calendar + address book + syncing with mobile devices) on top of an existing dovecot installation? Most existing commercially supported groupwares come with their own mail storage engine. I would like to keep dovecot as the email storage engine because of the maildir format which greatly helps with backup & restore. Regards -- Robert Sander

Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP?
Good evening from Singapore, Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP? Or do I need 2 static public IP addresses at the minimum? With Exchange 2016 groupware taking up HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, POP3, POP3S, SMTP, and SMTP/S ports, I personally don't think I can deploy cPanel behind the same public IP as

Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP?
Dear Richard Grainger, I am grateful for your reply and guidance. After reading the following article at nginx.com, I realize that I should use a reverse proxy instead of a load balancer. Article: WHAT IS A REVERSE PROXY VS. LOAD BALANCER? Link: https://www.nginx.com/resources/glossary/reverse-proxy-vs-load-balancer/ Presently, I am using pfSense community edition firewall. Can I install

CentOS friendly groupware
Just wondering what the consensus is around the list for a usable groupware product. It doesn't have to be as "fancy" as the integration between Outlook and Exchange...just simple calendaring, ToDo lists, document sharing, contact manager, etc. Has anyone tried opengroupware? It seems to do what I need, but doesn't support Chinese (which would make life a lot easier for my

Roaming profile & f-secure problem
Hi, are there any know problems with f-secure scanner and roaming profiles? We have a lot of users with problems syncing their roaming profile from the domain server. It seems to be a problem with f-secure's on-access scanning (may be timeout problem?). Some users have to login three or four times, before getting their roaming profile and not the default profile. System: 3.0.24-6etch9

Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP?
Hi, Based on further research, it appears that Squid can only reverse proxy HTTP and HTTPs but NGINX is able to reverse proxy IMAP, POP3, and SMTP protocols. Please correct me if I am wrong. Review: Asterisk at CeBIT 2005 / Asterisk at Linux-Tag 2005
For all who are interested: A quick review of CeBIT 2005. :-) CeBIT was a very successfull event. Most of the time, the asterisk-booth was crowded with more people than we could talk to. We had with us a demo-installation including different IP-phones, digital and analog phones as well as a Siemens HiPATH PBX to which our Asterisk-server served as a VoIP-gateway, and many people were impressed

You can use bind your cPanel web server to a different port or (better) you can put your services behind a reverse proxy/load balancer. In this scenario, for web servers running on the standard ports (ie TCP 80 and 443), you can use HTTP host headers/SNI to redirect requests to the appropriate backend web server based on the domain name used. So yes, you can have a whole bunch of stuff running

Asterisk at CeBit 2005
Hi there, I just wanted to point out that Asterisk will be present at CeBit this year. We gathered some money from sponsors and were able to afford a booth together with a training-company. We'd be happy to find others joining us at the booth somewhere between 10th and 16th of March in Hannover, Germany :-) Kind regards ... -- Thilo R??ler Linup Front Pallaswiesenstrasse 203 64293

Point-and-Print driver problems with unprivileged users on XP
Hi, I've problems to install printer drivers as a normal user with unprivileged rights on WinXP in a samba 3.0.24 domain (debian etch) using the "Point-and-Print" mechanism. I've read Volker Lendecke's Samba book on page 131 footnote 1, which mention to enable "point and print". Which reg keys do I have to set to install drivers by "Point and Print"?

recycle module creates empty files (0 KB)
Hi, I have a strange behaviour when creating new files. When opening word, excel, ppt or txt to create a new document (e.g. I use the word icon on the desktop to start word) and save the file to the home share H: an empty (0 KB) file with the same name as the saved document is created in the trash folder. Why this second empty file in the trash folder? Going directly to the home share H: and

blocked ports 445 and 139 make printer-shares very slow
Hi, do ports 445 and 139 (incoming) have to be open for the samba server's IP on WinXP client side (all WinXP clients are using netbios over TCP/IP)? F-Secure 7.10 blocks all incoming microsoft-ds (445) and netbios-ssn (139) by default, which ends up in very slow printer-shares behaviour (for example opening the properties or the spool window of a samba-printer takes up to 30 seconds). OpenGroupware.Org
Hi all! I'm thinking on installing OGO on CentOS 4. I've been to download.opengroupware.org but I didn't find any CentOS/RHEL 4 specific rpm packages. I'm wondering, since RHEL4/CentOS4 is based on Fedora Core 3, can I use these packages safely? Has anyone ever tried installing OGO on CentOS 4? Has anyone ever used ogoall-...rpm ? Thankx in advance. Best regards, Pedro

Looking for wine success stories
Hi folks, I'm going to be giving a talk at CeBit next month, and would like to showcase a couple of Wine success stories. If your organization is using Wine on more than ten desktops, please let me know how many desktops you're using it on, and what apps you're using with it. Thanks! - Dan
