same sambaSID
Hi,
samba 3.14 with ldapsam, working fine.
I tried this usrmngr.exe thingie because one of our admins is very
gui-oriented, wanted to see if it worked fine.
For most users, it is. I can change details, logon hours, groups, passwords.
But for 3 of them I get this message:
ldapsam_getsampwsid: More than one user with SID
[S-1-5-21-3707708495-1570892323-1667890705-3076]. Failing. count=3

list of features and question to technology
Hey there,
I am wondering if there is any list available giving me a list of feature of icecast (maybe also in comparision with shoutcast).
Moreover, I was thinking if and how the following scenario is solved: suppose I'd like to stream 1000 different songs at one time, i.e. 1000 user will listen to different mp3s hosted by my streaming server. Are in this scenario all 1000 songs (at

Outlook 2000 & attachments
Hi, I'm using Outlook 2000 under Wine 20050111. Generally things work great,
apart from one very annoying problem - whenever I try to open a message with
an attachment, Outlook crashes. I'm connecting via exchange and it doesn't
seem to matter what sort of attachment it is - it simply crashes as soon as
I click on the message.
Anyone had any similar problems and know a workaround?

rsync-2.6.8 hangs on AIX
We're copying a large number of 256MiB-files from one
AIX-5.3 machine to anoter, using rsync-2.6.8 (with ssh). In
the morning, the rsync process stopped to copy any more files
(it is still hanging as I write this, and we can leave it alone for
a couple of days).
There is another machine in between that forwards all tcp
packets to the target machine:

[LLVMdev] compile error with HowToUseJIT
Hi all!
I have installed LLVM 1.9 under FreeBSD and read the documentation.
Problem: examples/HowToUseJIT fails to compile.
I entered the following command in the directory /usr/home/x/llvm1.9/examples/HowToUseJIT :
gmake ENABLE_OPTIMIZED=0
It stops after producing object files (.o) without comment.
When I enter the following (from the documentation):
g++ `llvm-config --ldflags` -o HowToUseJIT

"Live-CD" with Firefox + XiphQT?
Hy,
I want to create a CD-ROM which includes Firefox 1.5.0.7 for MacOS X and is intended to be run solely on an intel-based Mac. It should already come with the XiphQT-plugin so that no installtion is needed.
I want to be able to put the CD-ROM into the drive, double-click on "start-MacOS-Firefox.app" and have a fully operational Firefox with XiphQT-support - no matter if Firefox or

outlier identification: is there a redundancy-invariant substitution for mahalanobis distances?
Dear R-experts,
Searching the help archives I found a recommendation to do multivariate
outlier identification by mahalanobis distances based on a robustly estimated
covariance matrix and compare the resulting distances to a chi^2-distribution
with p (number of your variables) degrees of freedom. I understand that
compared to euclidean distances this has the advantage of being scale-invariant.

(no subject)
I have a rather complex access setup for my users home-directories. This is
because
a) All users have to be able to read other users files (minus some private
folders)
b) Some users additionally have write access to specific (not: all!)
home-directories
So a user Joe also has a group called 'Joe' with members Joe, Tim and Kate.
Hence, Joe, Tim and Kate may write to /home/joe. I do this

unloading memdisk
Hi Peter,
I'm using isolinux and memdisk to create a multiboot rescue cd for
personal use as described on Bart's page (www.nu2.nu). One boot item
is to boot DOS 7.1 from Win98SE with a lot of other staff for emergencies.
This DOS bootimage puts all necessary stuff into it's own ramdisk (XMSDSK).
Some progs on the ramdisk needs access to floppy drive A: and unfortunately

2 bugs in max.col() (PR#9542)
Dear R-Developers,
I think I found two bugs in max.col(). Ties between zeros are not broken, which might affect simulations. -Inf and Zero can be treated the same, which can give completely wrong results, e.g. when the second max is sought by replacing all maxs by -Inf.
To fix max.col I do offer the C-code behind my function rowMax(), which also handles NAs and seems to be faster. However,
