RE: SWAT not working, can't authenticate
Did you make sure localhost resolves? Also, depending on your /etc/resolv.conf, you may have to fully qualify the host's name including the DNS domain. I seem to rember having problems with this, and some combination of using localhost or hostname.domain.edu or using the actual IP address of the host cleared up the problem. RE: SWAT not working, can't authenticate
I have had this problem before. Never really got to the bottom of it but if you want to get on then just add '-a' to your swat command to disable authentication. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Myers [mailto:myersjj@us.ibm.com] Sent: 07 November 2002 21:08 To: SAMBA@SAMBA.ORG Subject: RE: [Samba] RE: SWAT not working, can't authenticate I had already done that, so it must be

Comparing non nested models with correlation coefficients (inspired from Lorch and Myers )
Hi, I would like to compare two models in R with the same dependant variable but different predictors (two different types of frequency and reaction times as RT). An editor told me to have a look at Lorch and Myers 1990. Lorch and Myers use the following technique: 1) they perform regressions on individual subjects' data 2) they extract the beta weights 3) they run t-test on these beta

Version controlled (git) Maildir generated by Dovecot
Hi David, I've never heard about such feature in LibreOffice. Thank you for letting me know. I don't really see myself using the feature since I'd have to remember it. I'm used to store all sort of stuff / binary files in git. My rule of thumb is that if the file is bellow 10M, just add/commit it. Is it proper way of using git? No. Does it work? Yes ;-). I think that the

[PATCH node-image] Fix create-ovirt-iso-nodes to allow manual specification of network bridge to use
Since create-ovirt-network script has been deprecated (was part of ovirt-appliance repo) we can't default to bridge on the host of ovirtbr0 for doing fake node testing. So default to network:default and allow manual override to something like bridge:breth0 Signed-off-by: Perry Myers <pmyers at redhat.com> --- create-ovirt-iso-nodes | 11 +++++++---- 1 files changed, 7 insertions(+),

Help with 'annotation' in GOHyperGParamsClass
Dear cateGOry experts, hyperGTest documentation states that YEAST cannot be used as 'annotation' when evaluating gene ontology representation status for a given set of 'geneIds'. Because I am using a custom print I believe I need to create my own data package to use as the annotation file for 'annotation'. Can someone please describe how to make a data package that will

MTU was: Re: my icecast problem
It is going to depend on a number of factors. Linux sets (along with a few other OS's I'm sure) its MTU to 1500. The problem is, if you set it longer then it will most likely be frag'd by your router. If that router does not, then another will. I think MTU for ppp interfaces are smaller. Likewise, if your backbone is FDDI, it has a large frame (somewhere in the 8000 range I

passing a vector of variable names to the ... pairlist function argument
Hi, I have a character vector that contains the names of several objects that I would like to pass to a function (specifically, the ridge function in the survival package, but cbind is a similar example). I've been struggling with how to do this so that the object values get interpreted by the function, rather than the object names. For example, x1 <- 1:4 x2 <- 2:5 x3 <-

Outbound analog dialing with Internet Line Jack (fwd)
I've been trying to setup asterisk with an Internet Line Jack card for sometime. I've been successful in configuring asterisk to handle incoming calls, make calls between sip phones, call the asterisk demo, and even answer the phone with a sip client. I've been using x-lite as a sip client for my testing. I'm getting pretty close to how I want things to work, yet I've still

error fitting coxph model
Hi, I am using coxph from the survival package to fit a large model (100,000 observations, ~35 covariates) using both ridge regression (on binary covariates) and penalized splines (for continuous covariates). In fitting, I get a strange error: Error in if (abs((y[nx] - target)/(y[nx - 1] - target)) > 0.6) doing.well <- FALSE else doing.well <- TRUE : missing value where

repeated measures regression
How does one go about doing a repeated measure regression? The documentation I have on it (Lorch & Myers 1990) says to use linear / (subj x linear) to get your F. However, if I put subject into glm or lm I can't get back a straight error term because it assumes (rightly) that subject is a nominal predictor of some sort. In looking at LME it seems like it just does the right thing

Rsync for Windows on http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php
Hi to all on the Rsync mailing list. I noticed some posts back on the 25th September about my Rsync page (http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php). There were questions regarding it's suitability, why it was there, etc, and how I did not conform to the GPL. I have since sought advice from the Rsync administrators, who have advised me with regards to the GPL, etc. The page has been updated
