Printproblems in 3.0.3 - Postscript files contain log messages
Hello!
I'm having a problem with Samba 3.0.3 on a HP-UX 11.00 server. In Samba,
I'm having a printer which allows me to create PDF files. For this, I
added the following lines to smb.conf:
[global]
load printers = No
printcap name = /etc/opt/samba/printcap
[printers]
comment = Defaults for all printers
path = /var/opt/samba/spool
read only = Yes

Apache Charset vs html file charset
The apache httpd.conf has AddDefaultCharset UTF-8 while
the page I'm viewing on my CentOS server is charset=ISO-8859-1
The page appears funny on the browser showing ??
Given that apache has the default charset shouldn't it honor it?
Why the ?? characters?
Spike.

Charset issue
I was playing a bit with Mongrel to test it out before using it in
production, but I have an issue with Latin accented letters being all
messed up.
I''ve included the right content-type in the HTML and both Lighty
+Fastcgi and Webrick have no problem with them.
Any tips?
Thanks,

Best encoding/charset for rails ecommerce site?
Normally, I''d just use UTF-8 but the more I read about ruby, the more
confused I am about selecting the most trouble-free encoding.
I''m using ruby 1.8.2, rails 1.1.2, postgresql 7.4.7 on Debian stable.
The website is in English and will sell products to U.S. and Canadian
customers so it needs to support special characters found in Spanish and
French names.
Which of these 3

redirect_to is changing my webpage charset
Gents,
I just figured out that redirect_to do something with the HTTP headers.
Specially the Content-type and charset.
I mean:
I got diferent encodings (charsets) if I use
http://myapp.com/welcome/index or http://myapp.com/welcome/
Can anyone tell me how can I solve that?

how to define content charset?
I tried to define koi8-r charset in app/views/layouts/ like this:
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=koi8-r">
<title>Cpu: <%= controller.action_name %></title>
<%= stylesheet_link_tag ''scaffold'' %>
</head>
But it doesn''t work. I suppose WEBrick already sent utf8 charset

Missing charset ISO8859-1.so in 3.0.6?
I recently installed and built 3.0.06 on my Solaris 9 Ultra 5 station. When
I start either smbd or nmbd, the log files indicate a missing shared library
during initialization, but the daemons appear to be running anyway.
Specifically, the log says:
[2004/09/09 09:09:07, 3] lib/module.c:do_smb_load_module(46)
Error loading module '/usr/local/samba/lib/charset/ISO8859-1.so': ld.so.1:

Callerid charset problems
Hi,
I'm having problems when the callerid of a user defined in the
sip.conf contains special characters such as: ?, ?, ?, ?, ? , etc. The
strange thing is that these characters are displayed correctly in the
dialplan by using the sip show peer command, but if this user makes a
call, these characters are not displayed correcly in the SIP message.
Any ideas of what might be happening?
Thank

Charset problem only on redirected folder Desktop.
Hi,
We're currently using Samba server version 3.0.28 running on a Solaris
10u4 box.
We share users's home directories between Unix and Windows clients and
have to specify the smb.conf parameter unix charset to iso-8859-15 (or
so-8859-1) to ensure correct names for files and folders (containing
accents) from Windows and Unix.... everything is ok :
Windows Explorer looks ok, and
