Intermittent problem, likely disk IO related - mptscsih: ioc0: attempting task abort!
I think the panic is the consequence of drive write failure. So the actual problem is before the panic call trace. I'd post the entire dmesg somewhere wrap safe (either you mail agent or the forum is hard wrapping and is a pain to read). What do you get for smartctl -x <dev> In the meantime check or replace cables, usually it's the connectors that are faulty not the cable itself.

nmblookup works by IP but not netbios name.
Hello list, The issue is as the topic says, following are details: the Samba server running as ADS member, NBT enabled on Windows machines, no WINS. Windows machines can find each other by 'nbtstat -a' but cannot find the Samba server. The Samba server can't find neither Windows machines nor itself by 'nmblookup -a <netbios-name>', error message is "could not open

Netbios Aliases and %L and port 445
Running v3.0.2a-SUSE, joined to AD, all clients are XP.SP2 When smb.conf has "smb ports = 139", then %L is populated with the appropriate netbios alias name as selected by the end user, and everything works as expected. When "smb ports = 445" or is not specified, then %L is populated with the host name instead of the alias name. Is there a code patch for %L or an

[NetBIOS] Registering new name?
Hello I'm having a hard time finding information about NetBIOS. Maybe someone here has good experience with this API, so I figured I could try asking here, although the question is specifically on how to use NetBIOS in an all-Windows LAN from Visual Basic :-/ I'm trying to register a new name on a server so that clients can locate it by broadcasting its NetBIOS name. At this point,

lockups with windows 2000 client, every 15 minutes or so
I have just entered the wonderful world of windows filesharing at my small home LAN and I'm experiencing the following problem: When I continually listen to ogg files in Windows 2000 Server from a samba server the music locks up every 15 minutes or so. Everything in the windows gui suffers from terrible preformance until i get to disconnect the share from the samba server, then everything

IP to NetBIOS resolution
Hello, Is there *any* way to reliablily determine the NetBIOS name of a computer when you only know their IP address? I know it is very easy to find the IP address from the NetBIOS name, but I can't seem to find any way of getting a NetBIOS name from an IP.. James deBoer (jdeboer@scsinternet.com)

SME on CentOS, telnet and MySQL
After failing to install on two different machines that were running Windows, I realized that one machine had a bad hard-drive, and the other bad memory. So I've collected the good parts into one machine and installed CentOS with SME. This was the fastest install of Linux I have every seen, 15 minutes done, configured, and running, web and email server. It is a very secure config, no GUI

saving multiple arrays from a foreach loop
Dear R-List member, I have a problem when I'm trying to save two arrays from a foreach-loop. I'm also not sure whether this is possible or just my inexperience. However, this works perferctly fine with a for-loop. Here is an example code - any help is much appreciated!!: ############ n.vpn = 2 n.run= 3 # create to empty matrices sme = matrix(NA,4,n.vpn) test = matrix(NA,4,n.vpn) #
