Windows don't show domain groups
I recently updated the samba to latest Debian stable version (3.0.24-2),
after that I couldn't see groups on Windows stations anymore, only domain
users, and any changes on smb.conf has been made. Currently I'm using Samba
along with LDAP in my servers to authenticate users from Windows 9X/2000/XP
workstations.
I'm a bit clue less about how solve that problem, since with oldest

Cri-o 1.13 package
Hi there,
I was looking for cri-o 1.13 package to install on CentOS 7.6 but it
seems that we only have 1.11 packaged.
There is any alternative to 1.13 package to CenOS 7.6 or if I want to
use it I should build from source?
Thanks.

creating NTConfig.POL
I have an NTConfig.POL I created from poledit with the Windows 2000
Administrator toolkit. It contains my WSUS configuration, and
NTConfig.POL is placed in my [netlogon] share and is being loaded fine
by the clients. Is this still the propery way to create NTConfig.POL
files, or is there a newer utility I should be using? I'm looking at
Vista and it uses .admx templates, which I guess

Controlling use of roaming profiles
We are using a system running Red Hat Linux 7.0 with Samba 2.2.7a as
our PDC.
For the most part, we want to use roaming profiles, so that users'
settings are backed up via the PDC, and are available if they need to
change or reinstall their Windows desktop machine. However, there are
a few Windows systems (running NT 4.0 or Windows 2000) for which
we would like to be able to disable roaming

Samba/LDAP - using Poledit for security templates.
Hi samba gurus,
I have a successful install of samba/LDAP (on FC5) and am looking at
applying security templates for different groups.
I had this successfully working on my old RH9 box running samba (but not
using LDAP). Using poledit, I created groups (sales, it, etc) that were
the same as my linux groups, and created a Ntconfig.POL file.
Referring to this article for use on poledit.exe and

W2K Workstation not reading NTConfig.pol
I have recently set up an small SAMBA network(just my
server and a W2K SP4 Workstation). My Server is acting
as a PDC. Everything seems to work flawlessly, users,
roaming profiles, netlogon script, etc... But I cannot
make this machine to read my NTConfig.pol file.
I have it at my NETLOGON share [/srv/netlogon] with
rwxr-xr-x permissions. I have tried with different
filenames (NTConfig.POL,

group policy (2000/XP)
Hello all,
I am a new user of samba, that's look pretty cool.
I use samba 3.x. There are only windows 2000 client(and 1 XP) in french
language. I don't have any license of some server version like windows NT4
server, 2000 or 2003 server.
One think i would like to do is setting the time of the windows 2000 client.
I write in the "logon script" :

ntconfig.pol not loaded
hi samba community and team !
I' m playing with policies under win2k/samba3/ntconfig.pol/poledit
It worked at first, but now seems my win2k test machine doesn't want to load the
ntconfig.pol located into \\mysmbpdc\netlogon
I've seen some threads about the same prob. but none with a solution.
I know there is a project with an "editreg" tool planned.
But for now I would like

how to set folder redirection on Windows 7 with a Samba PDC
Hi,
I have read that Windows 7 is using a new admx format and that it is not
compatible with the old-school poledit. If I would like to stick with a
Samba PDC, is there any elegant way to get Windows 7 client to obey the
folder redirection(and possibly other rules) set using poledit &
NTConfig.pol?
I have been searching the mailing list, but there doesn't seems to be much

wondering if somebody could tell me how I can get line breaks to appear in
the Logon Banner Text. I have tried /n and ~ so far but no luck
Thanks,

how to create NTConfig.POL?
Is there a way to create an NTConfig.POL file without having access to an
NT4, w2k or w2k3 server?
Is there a way to do it in linux? Or a winxp/9x workstation?

Samba3 GPO
Hi @all,
I have some question I can't find a explanation.
I have a standalone Samba3 as PDC. It works perfect with LDAP.
Now I want to implement Policies.
1) Is it possible to use GPO from ads ?
And if so, where to store this policies.
2) Or can I only use policies created with poledit from NT4 which should
be stored in NETLOGON.
Any help or links about this would be apreciated.

ntconfig.pol policies for groups
Hi!
I have a problem using ntconfig.pol-policies for domain groups other
than "Domain Users" and "Domain Admins".
I am using Samba 2.2.7 with LDAP support as a PDC.
Policies work as expected for "Domain Users" and "Domain Admins" but
setting policies for any other group doesn't work.
The "Browse"-list for AddGroups in poledit only shows

Samba 3.0.0 PDC + Win2000 Client + Group Policies
We want to build a Debian's unstable samba 3.0.0beta2-1 as PDC with plenty of
Windows 2K clients.
Joining the domain, Domain Logons, Roaming Profiles, Domain Groups, are Ok.
As we thought that Samba 3 cannot handle Win2K's GPOs (isn't it?), we tried
NT4 style Group Policies to restrict a bit users posibilities (as we have
students as users). Our opinion is that Mandatory Profiles

windows doesn't show groups in security tab of file properties
Hello,
I've a Samba 3.0.23c-SerNet-Debian PDC (no BDC or anything) connected to
OpenLDAP. I thought it would work smoothly, I didn't discover any
problems until today.
I'am trying to create a ntconfig.pol with poledit, but it doesn't show
me any groups to add to the policy. I can see all the users by the way.
To eleminate a poledit problem I used the security tab (in german

[LLVMdev] Target Assembly Parser: Access to Reloc::Model
Hi Rafael,
Sure, the expansion of at least .cpload should be done in the Target ELFStreamer but AFAICS it doesn't solve my initial problem. MCCodeGenInfo is not created in tools where CodeGen isn't needed (llvm-mc) and it's still not possible to access the Relocation Model in MCObjectFileInfo from the target streamer (private member).
Am I missing something obvious ?

few idea about dealing with "Large Roaming Profiles"
Well,
I put it here. All the experience gained in about-half-an-year-management
of Samba-PDC + numerous NT4 workstations is included. Also, I'd be glad to
hear from you what did I miss!
1) when NT4-workstations are organised into "domain", there's some
action assosiated to this: "to log into domain".
samba ain such case acts as PDC (primary domain controller),
