local users can't access a shared folder when samba is joined in the domain.
hi all,
Could anyone please help me on how a local users can access shared
folder when samba is join in the domain.
After I joined the win2k ADS domain, only the domain user that I gave
permission can access the shared folder but the local user that has
permission can no longer access it. Before I joined the domain, there
are no problem with the local users in accessing the shared folder

[POSIX ACLs] Only ACE rules from Samba Primary Group are applied.
Hi,
I've a samba 3.0.24 server running in a debian "alike" OS with a
(Open)LDAP backend and I'm having the following problem:
I have LDAP users that belong to more than one (POSIX) group. For
instance, I have a user2 that belongs to group "users" and "grupo2" and
I have a share with the following ACL settings:

vsftpd and Kickstart
I'm trying to setup a kickstart server that will use ftp. I created a
user account and put the ISO images in /home/centos. I created a
directory /home/centos/disc1 and mounted the first ISO image there.
When I try to do the ftp install I keep getting an error "Unable to
retrieve ftp://my.ftpserver.com//home/centos/disc1/CentOS/base/netstg2.img"

FW: Trouble with ACLs
Well, I screwed around a bit and after doing a "wbinfo -u" and a "wbinfo -g"
I stopped getting the "unable to map SID" error. Now I'm getting a
different error. ;-D

Possible bug in SAMBA connection close?
Hey all,
I've been fighting a samba share/unmount problem for several days now and may
have found a bug in the connect/disconnect code.
Basically, it seems that while everything claims to free the connection to the
share, it doesn't actually happen. This is me closing ALL windows to the server:
log.smbd:

GPO / Sysvol problems
And this is some Samba logs from a connect where the profile isn't handled properly.
Near the end, it looks like Samba resets this connection... (I could be wrong - I know nothing about how to read Samba logs.)

FreeBSD 7.0-RC3 (for amd64/i386 only) Available
We're doing a "mini-RC3" to encourage testing of the Highpoint driver
(hptrr) backout. Testing of 7.0-RC2 showed there were problems with the
driver update done between RC1 and RC2.
Because it's a "mini-RC" targetted at testing of one particular thing we
have not bothered with setting up FreeBSD Update. You can use the
normal cvsup-and-build method of doing an update

VFS Objects Recycle questions
I have a need to setup the recycle vfs object on our server.
On my test server, I have all of the shares on a single drive and have put
the following into each share:
vfs_objects = recycle
recycle:repository = [Actual Path and Partition that the share is located]
recycle:directory_mode = 770
recycle:keeptree = Yes
recycle:touch_mtime = Yes
recycle:versions = Yes
It works like a charm. All

Syslinux 5.11-pre7 not working
Hi,
I am a happy user of version 4.06 and have been hoping to upgrade the 5.x series (for the HTTP bits).
I have the following problems with the 5.11-pre7 build:
1. TFTP load is horribly slow ... even when the two REAL machines are connected to the same switch.
For a typical RHEL installation, the vmlinuz loads ... the initrd.img loads very very slowly and just times out (I waited over 10 mins)

dfs problems addressed in 3.0.25b?
Is the issue below addressed in 3.0.25b? (no freebsd port available yet
so I'm still at 3.0.25a)
I can't see anything specifically about this in the release notes.
I just want to add that I've also seen this behaviour on a windows xp
x64 client.
It's a pretty serious problem.. so I'm also thinking I may have to
revert to an earlier version if it doesn't look like a
