ClearCase Interop problem with recent Samba versions
Dear all, I have a SUN server running as ClearCase view-server and am using Samba for Interop. Today I updated Samba from 3.0.21c to 3.0.24 and now I cannot mount/start my views from windows!! MVFS error log on my windows client gives "{8 pid/tid 49800000c58/85fdf178} MvfsFsNotification: Unsupported filesystem type (6)" Samba logs don't show any error... Trying other

Question about mount.cifs and smbclient
Hi! I have a problem for a few weeks, and can't figure out what could be the problem. The client computer runs RHEL 5.2 (arch: x64_64); the smb server is unknown for us. I'm sorry, that I can't provide any info (usernames, servernames, IPs, etc), they are masked to look like variables. But they are correct as far as i am concerned. When I try to mount it with mount.cifs (.smbfs

Time out failure with mvfs on Linux
I have tried Samba 3.0.2a and 3.0.4. We use Active directory. The server is running on RHEL3. When I connect to the server on a share that is acutally an ext3 or NFS file system, I have no known problems. We use ClearCase on Linux and I am trying to access my workspace (view) as I have done many times before on Solaris, but now we are running on Linux and with a newer version of ClearCase

Accesing shares from ClearCase
Hi all, Just a novice in this world of Samba. I got a question, probably too simple. No problem to access share file systems and mount ClearCase vobs. Log shows access granted to NT userid belonging to the right UNIX group. Then, editing a file ( using a view thru Explorer), log shows another non authenticate user called clearcase_albd trying to be validated. I guess due to

Too many open files when using clearcase
FYI: I'm using samba 2.0.6 for clearcase interoperation between Unix and NT, and while it works great 99% of the time, I run into a problem whenever I do a complete build on an NT system, which involves compiling ~1500 files. The first 1100 or so are compiled correctly, but then the following errors show up on the NT box: The system cannot open the device or file specified. And the

Questions about Samba 3.x on AIX 4.3.3
Hello, I realize that AIX 4.3.3 is a very old platform, but we have one such system which cannot be upgraded and requires Samba. We are currently using Samba 2.2.1a (!) and I'd like to upgrade to something more modern. This system participates in a Clearcase environment and we are trying to share an MVFS filesystem. Users complain that it takes a very long time (5+ minutes) to access this

Samba and ClearCase
We're trying to use samba to let our PC's mount view extended pathnames used by clearcase but they show up as empty. If anyone's used samba and Clear Case (by Pure Atria) and gotten it to work I'd love to hear how. thanks, Bill -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- William H. massive performance problems if transferring many small files
Hi, If I try to transfer about 27.000 small HTML-Files from my Windows-PC to our central SAMBA-Server I'll get massive performance problems. First the performance looks ok but after a time period of 3 minutes it goes slow down - appr. one file per second will be transferred. Has anyone an idea what I can tune to avoid this annoying behaviour. My samba server configuration: - OS: Solaris 8

Too many open files, Bug 3342
We submitted bug 3342 on Dec. 20th, Too many open files. It has not moved from the new state. So lets try here. We have Dell Quad Xeon server that we end up rebooting about every 2-3 weeks when the number of open samba files sky rockets. The system is a ClearCase server system. We have been monitoring this system for a few months now and are not able to pin down a cause to this issue. The system

clearcase and samba
FYI:, I'm fairly new to samba (a couple of months now), and have experimented - unsuccessfully - with getting it to work with clearcase. Does anyone have a how-to, or a list of gotcha's for setting up clearcase with samba? Thanks in advance for any information you can send me. Ozzie,

Samba Connect problems
Thanks in advance for reading this slightly long post. I checked the comp.protocols.smb archives along with the web site for info and was unsuccessful. All help and information is greatly appreciated. We are using Samba (1.9.17p3) for access to our Clearcase VOBS which are stored on a UNIX box (I'm aware this is supposedly not supported, but it has been working great up until these problems

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Moving to Sphinx for LLVM and friends documentation (with partial implementation (in both 10pt and 12pt font)).
Michael, The benefits of Sphinx sound nice but one comment: The main page and the tables of contents in the other pages (at least the ones I looked at: Getting Started; Lang Ref) are so long and sparse that it is difficult to get the big picture of what is there and even to find a document unless you know what to search for. The originals were much more compact and so much better in this regard.

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Moving to Sphinx for LLVM and friends documentation (with partial implementation (in both 10pt and 12pt font)).
Hi Michael, Awesome work! I'm a strong supporter of using Sphinx. I've been using it for the LNT docs (http://llvm.org/docs/lnt/) and it is quite nice to work with. +1 for migrating over. - Daniel On Sun, Aug 8, 2010 at 11:29 PM, Michael Spencer <bigcheesegs at gmail.com> wrote: > Moving the LLVM Documentation to Sphinx > ======================================= > >

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Moving to Sphinx for LLVM and friends documentation (with partial implementation (in both 10pt and 12pt font)).
Moving the LLVM Documentation to Sphinx ======================================= As a few of you that are on IRC already know, I have experimented with moving the LLVM documentation over to `Sphinx <http://sphinx.pocoo.org/index.html>`__ from the current html form. I have moved almost all of the content over and have begun "Sphinxifying" the documentation to correct links and make
