Backing up CentOS
Can anyone suggest a good open source/free backup software that works on CentOS? I was reading through the manuals on how to back things up and it said do 1 of 2 things. Buy a 3rd party software packages or make one from source. Well I have no clue how to do the 2nd option and I don't want to spend any money so I figured I would as you gurus. BTW I am newb so easier the software the better.

Centos 5 32-bit vs 64-bit question
I'm trying to install a custom greeter into a newly installed 64-bit Centos 5 system. I originally tried to modify Xsession to include xpop /path/to/text_to_dispay as the first executable line, but that didn't work. Centos 5.1 documentation states that the supported ext3 filesystem limit is 16TB, yet I have a 9.5TB partition that is claimed to be too large: mke2fs 1.39 (29-May-2006) mke2fs: Filesystem too large. Adding new Hard disk to server with RAID-5

Disk partitions and LVM limits
Hi, I've got a DAS DELL MD1000 with a bunch of SATA drives in RAID 5 configuration with total space of 5.4TB. This box is attached to a CentOS5 system (kernel 2.6.18-53.1.6.el5).
