Users that can add computers to Domain
What does samba look for when a user trys to add a computer to the domain? I
have tried everything I can think of. Putting the user in different groups,
set the users primary group to different groups. Nothing has come of this. I
have every else in samba working right now, except printers, but since I
havent tried that, nor do I know how I can benefit from using samba for
printing. Anyways any

[Follow-Up] Domain login - XP 64 -> Samba
hi list,
just read this http://www.gatago.com/linux/samba/14522736.html and this
seems to be my solution 'cause i'm also hitting the same problem.
unfortunately i can't use original debian packages anymore, because they
seem to not integrate the patch, yet (still sub-releases of 3.0.14). or
does anyone made other experiences? seems like not many people are using

profile on a remote server
I notice that in the LDAP the profiles are store in a network share. Is it
possible to use a different samba server not setup as a PDC/BDC to share
these profile. for an example maybe setup a little samba box on a remote
site, that stores profiles and home dirs, but still auth against the PDC.
wouldnt that help keep network traffic on the WAN down?

Xen guests clock is exactly 2 hours before dom0 time
Hi list,
one and hopefully last strange thing I figured out ist the systime of
my guests.
Dom0 uses ntp for time syncronisation. I set the time on my guests
manually but after reboot any machine (Windows server, XP, Freebsd,
even PV Machines like ubuntu) all run local time - 2 hours.
/proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock is set to 0 so actually the time
should be set by dom0...(?)

Call Recording Questions
Hi,
1) I want to create add *1 call recording and wanted to know whether the file is created during recording or only after? I want to syncronise the recorded files with my web server (on a different machine (Windows)) so I need a way of telling when the recorded call has ended before copying it over.
2) I tried setting up *1 in features.conf but when I press *1, all that happens is

Modems: Cable or DSL digital blunders that lartc may help with.
I have a Cable ''modem'' that has a problem that many of these devices is
bound to have. I was wondering what other lartc user thought about this
and if DSL has simular problems.
Cable, being Asymetrical, is able to upload at a given rate and hopefully
has a buffer, in the modem, of some kind. When I nc(netcat) to a UDP
echo, or discard, server I get about 10Mbps out on my

Using rsync for two-waz-synchronisation
Hello,
is there any way to use rsync for two-way-syncronisation? I want to use
it to keep the data on two hosts consistent. Sometimes one of this hosts
(sometimes the first, sometimes the second) changes its location.
If the two hosts are at the same location I want automatically rsync them.
The data only changes at one hosts but it is not defined on which host
it changes.
For example:

rsync on Windows 2000?
What is the status of rsync on Windows 2000?
I was looking to install it on my test system, and the download
directory has a readme file that says I need the cygnus gnu-win32 library.
The link refers me to the index page for cygnus, with no way to get to a
download area. A google search shows many mirrors of the download
directory. All I have checked are completely blank.
I will confess
