iptables rules for lustre 1.6.x and MGS recovery procedures
Hi, I would like to know what TCP/UDP ports should i keep open in my firewall policies on my MGS server such that I can have my MGS server fire-walled. Also if in a event of loss of MGT would it be possible to recreate the MGT without loosing data or bringing the filesystem down (i.e. by using cached information from MDT''s and OST''s) Thanks Anand

Dearest list, just now I migrated a pine user to dovecot. Nothing special so far, but then I saw this in my syslog and the user reported, that he got this error message: MAIL FOLDER "INBOX" CLOSED DUE TO ACCESS ERROR Obviously this problem is related to his local filter rules: If commented out everything works like a charm. The corresponding filter rule looks for a

centralized user authentication
> Apart from ipa are there any other good tools out there for centralised user > auth? I am currently testing LDAP (openldap) combined with nss_ldap, configured with authconfig. I would start by testing IPA. Redhat is building out a set of enterprise management tools which include cobbler and spacewalk; I would think IPA will eventually be integrated into their mgt tools. That said, if

trouble with custom type on 0.24.8
I''m having trouble getting a simple custom type to work. Clients are giving me the following error: "Could not retrieve catalog: Could not find resource type zypper_repo at /etc/puppet/manifests/nodes/mgt.pp:33 on node <host.fqdn>" The custom type is present in the /var/lib/puppet/lib/puppet/type directory on both clients and server (via pluginsync), but it''s

"map to guest = bad password" not working as expected
Hi all, I had been trying to use "map to guest = bad password" to map users from other domains to guest to allow only guest access. But when I try to access the samba server from another domain, I get an error saying that it is not authorized from that machine. I am attaching the smb.conf. Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. [global] idmap uid = 70000-200000 idmap

winbind errors and panics
Hi, I'm setting up a Samba AD member server on CentOS 6. Everything seems to work, except that Windows users don't get automatically created in the idmap backend (which is an LDAP tree, btw). I do get the following errors in the winbind logging: [2012/01/26 13:04:20.634990, 1] winbindd/idmap_ldap.c:193(verify_idpool) Unable to verify the idpool, cannot continue initialization!

Bug#658305: Prevent silently failing on duplicate vifname
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.2-3 Severity: normal When configurating a duplicate custom vifname for interfaces in the Xen dom0 that are added to a bridge (which is obviously a configuration error), the hotplug scripts fail silently to rename the new vifX.0 to the custom vifname, if it's already existing. The result of this, is that the domU will start normally, but no network

Hi there; I have samba-2.2.7a installed as PDC for Windows2K, XP, 98 (have not tested yet. It appears to work with 2K and XP. However, I have a few problems and I'd appreciate your comments. 1) net time \\linux /yes takes 30-40second on both 2K and XP 2) logging in on the server gives me the following errors: unix_clean_name [/wshENU.DLL] unix_clean_name [wshENU.DLL]
