Local groups invisible (ldapsam & 3.0.23b, 3.0.23c)
Hello all, I'm running samba3 as domain controller. I have upgraded samba from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23b and faced an issue with groups display: samba does not see any groups. "net rpc group -U Administrator" returns empty set. usrmgr.exe does not show any groups also. Groups are present in ldap, nss_ldap works fine: # id asv uid=2005(asv) gid=513(Domain Users) groups=513(Domain Users),

Please Make 3.0.23a SuSE .rpms available
Jerry, Lars, all: Can you repost the 3.0.23a rpms for SuSE 10. I am dead in the water after installing 3.0.23b. I would like to reload 3.0.23a to get things back to normal. If anybody else has a link I would use, I'd be very thankful. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. 3.0.23 for Debian Sarge: LDAP problems
Hi, I always prefer the Samba packages for Debian-Stable from the Samba-Team and I never had a problem so far (thank you, Simo!). Yesterday I updated from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23 in my LDAP-based network. I updated samba.schema, added "index sambaSID eq,sub" to my slapd.conf and ran slapindex. When I started slapd and samba afterwards, I saw error messages like these (from smbd.log):

Binaries for Debian and Ubuntu
Thanks. I figured out that there is no Debian packages because nobody builds them... So let me ask another question: Why there is no interest in building Samba? There must be some reason for that. Debian package including --with-acl-support?
Hi Samba Experts, Does anyone know where I could download a Debian Sarge package that has the --with-acl-support configure option set? I've read that the Debian packages on Sarge don't have it, and I've tried modifying /etc/apt/sources.list to include deb http://us4.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/Debian sarge samba But everytime I try to modify ACLS via Windows XP security

Debian 3.0.23b tbdsam guest panic
Hi All, Just upgraded a test box to 3.0.23b and discovered some changes that cause a panic. I had an smb.conf with passdb backend = tbdsam guest The guest bit now causes panic action. log.smbd complains ... "No builtin nor plugin backend for tdbsam guest found" Either the build options have changed or the guest operative has issues. Works OK without guest, but it's been

HTB_Tool
Hi, I just want to let you know of a tool that makes your HTB configuration very easy. Sorry if you already knew about it. The webpage is in Romanian ... but one can understand from the configuration examples avaiable on the webpage and in the http://sgi.rdscv.ro/~ionuts/htb-tools/htb_util-0.2.4-pre1_cv-1_quantum-1536-sin.tar.bz2 archive. Debian sarge package for 1.2beta1?
Hello, has anyone seen or created a Debian Sarge package for 1.2beta1? I saw some for Sid, but I prefer not upgrading glibc right now, as this is a production server (Asterisk on it will be for testing). Thanks, Juraj.

[ANNOUNCE] Unofficial icecast-kh and libtheora Debian Sarge packages
Hi, I hope this is useful for some of you: I'm just finished building unofficial debian packages for icecast2 and libtheora for Sarge (stable). The idea behind this is to keep all the servers which take part on the GISS stream-ring in sync, running the same version of icecast2 kh branch, thus having a common ground for testing and debugging, and stay always on the cutting-edge of

Debian Sarge -- cvs vs. apt-get
After reading the wiki, I am still confused as to whether I should install zaptel, libpri, and asterisk from cvs or use apt-get to retrieve the Debian packages. I am running Debian sarge with kernel 2.4.26. What is the prevailing opinion out there about using cvs vs. apt-get for the various components (zaptel, libpri, and Asterisk)? Thanks, Mike Roberts

Hi, I''m attempting an install of active_rbac but am having some troubles. I''m running Debian 3.1 sarge and I am getting an error saying that I need to have net/https installed. I checked out my ruby lib and net/https.rb is nowhere to be found. I''m running the default ruby for Sarge which is 1.8.2. Was https.rb not included in this build? How can I get around this? I

Compiling asterisk-addons-1.0.7 on Debian Sarge with asterisk-packages installed
Hi! I'm using Debian Sarge with the asterisk-packages (1.0.7) installed. I want to use the cdr_addon_mysql, but there is no DEB. So I tried to compile it, but w/o success. I get an error of a missing asterisk.h. I searched for that file on my system , but it is non-existent, although I installed asterisk-dev. Is there something which I still have to install or do I have to compile the
