hello
i solved my problem.
i wanted a manager to be able to modify files in the users' profiles
from his windows workstation.
The solution i found is with adding this lige to the profiles share

Hello list
i recently replaced (1st of january) our old samba server
(debian+samba3.0.14a) to a new one (debian squeeze+samba3.5.6).
we now have HUGE delays during logon time, up to 8 minutes. The client
and servers seems to do nothing during that time.
This afternoon, i tried to logon to a workstation. Here is the log.

AAH not getting IP address, likely to be network card?
Hi all,
We use AAH to run our office telecoms registered with two Sipgate accounts.
Today, Sipgate appeared to have had problems with their server with oneway audio on every call. In order to cause the Sipgate message service to pick up in stead of our AAH box, I simply unplugged the network cable.
We now have problems where AAH does not seem to access the network. I plugged the network cable

WMA9 versus OGG
Hello all
I have been encoding to OGG as a default for well over a year, but I
recently thought I ought to test how it sounds compared to other codecs. I
got the Windows Media 9 encoder and I was quite surprised at how bad a job
OGG did at quality 0 with a simple piano clip, and how well WMA9 was - I've
always considered WMA as being a bit naff, but WMA9 has forced me to
re-access this view

yum updated to 3.3, rpmdb corrupted
I'd guess this is probably something pretty specific to my test box, but when I
yum updated to 3.3 my rpmdb got totally hosed. Unfortunately, I didn't save
the error that occured at the time because a rpm --rebuilddb _appeared_ to fix
the problem. Unfortunately I found out later that I was left with a db that
only contained a subset of the actual install base. I'm now trying to

Problem using tftpd-hpa 0.34 and armmon bootloader on remote embedded arm-linux board
Hi all,
I've been struggling with this for several days now so any help would be very
much appreciated!
I have a compulab embedded arm board which runs a bootloader called ArmMon.
ArmMon supports file fetching over ethernet via a built in tftp client, and
Compulab recommend the use of winagents tftp server for windows ... which is
a bit naff when I'm cross developing from linux to

Live Webcast in OGG
Hi,
Is it possible to stream live, as opposed to recorded, OGG format yet? I
had a look at the Icecast 2.0 beta instructions and it ends in a program
called "example" which will stream a pre-recorded OGG file to the
server. Is there anything to stream directly from the soundcard yet? If
not, is there anything in the pipeline?
If it is possible, what bitrates in mono/stereo are

Get real - install Windows!
After months where my wife was patiently playing WoW with appalling graphics because WoW doesn't really support OpenGL any more, and an even worse frame rate despite really low graphics settings, I finally got fed up with the fact that I cannot, under any circumstances, get sound out of Mangler and WoW at the same time even though the Wine audio test works fine, and was getting zero support on

how to write a function that remembers its state across its calls
Hi,
I wonder how to write a function that remembers its state across its
calls. For example, I would like to compute the average of the pass three
values the function has seen
f(1) # NA
f(2) # NA
f(3) # 2
f(4) # 3
This would require f to keep track of the values it has seen. In other
languages like c++ or java it is easy to do by having a member variable. I
am not sure how to do similar
