Cannot override default -O3 flag on Winodws, dll does not have symbols
In trying to compile a package with c code using Rtools, -O3 is added by
default. This comes from Makeconf? Compiler flags (CFLAGS="-O0 -g" ) set in
src/Makevars.win or src/Makevars appear before this.
nm pkg.dll reveals no symbols!
How can I compile a Windows package with "-O2 -g"?
Thanks,
RT

alternative password database, using ldap instead of , private/smbpasswd
hee hee, jean francois is going to be annoyed. this code is still under
"definite alpha" status, but i really, really wanted to get it in there
asap.
so, the latest cvs checkin adds the ability to use an ldap schema for the
passwords, not that i know what one of those actually is (only kidding:
i've just never set one up yet). here it is:

Can't add users with smbpasswd to LDAP
Hi!
I'm using samba 2.2.4 and OpenLDAP 2.0.21 on MandrakeLinux 8.2. In some

sambas smbpasswd. However:

[LLVMdev] LLVM2.2 x64 JIT trouble on VStudio build

Well, x86-64 stub was never ported to intel assembler, I expect to see
32-bit one used on windows64.
In general, the whole windows64 support is missed mainly due to crazy
calling convetion invented by Microsoft. So, all calls from code being
JITed to external functions will be clearly broken (if they

Bug in tools::md5sum - does not work when filepath contains tilde (ie home directory)
I've reproduced on ubuntu and winodws with R3.4.3
When the filepath contains a tilde, the result is NA. But if the file path
is expanded then the function works.
Example:
tools::md5sum("~/.Rprofile") returns NA
tools::md5sum(normalizePath("~/.Rprofile")) returns the proper md5
Perhaps this is expected behaviour because the documentation does say NA is
returned for

would that user1 could read/write only his personal folder, user1 belongs to
domain users and can reach the user folder but he can't see his personal
folder. I have tried to run setfacl -b (remove all ACL entries) and setup

migrate machine-passwords from smbpasswd to ldap?
I'm just migrating a whole samba-installations ffrom old 2.2 to 3.0 with LDAP.
I was successfully able to migrate all useraccounts with smbldap-useradd but now
I'm stuck with the machine-accounts. All machines are part of the domain and
they should be able to logon the new server without noticing any difference.
I can add them with smbldap-useradd -w but the resulting ldap-entry does

As I can see - bugzilla.redhat.com for oVirt Product
does not contain qemu-kvm-ev Component at all - looks
like this is yet another bug - in the bugzilla settings.
But I can't find how to report

This is a very scary problem I have here. I use a precompiled 2.0.6 samba

to change the samba password using smbpasswd program ( from a non root
account whic I use) I got an error messgae saying that it cannot change
the password. My goodness, I found that the instead of changing password

smbpasswd and password on command line
Hello -
I see from the 3.0.8 release notes:
* Remove support for passing the new password to smbpasswd
on the command line without using the -s option.
I used to use the option:
smbpasswd -a $user $pass
to quickly add a new user to the smbpasswd database. This no longer
works in 3.0.8. I have tried every combination I can think of adding the
-s and -L options to the command

Should smbpasswd change unix password too?
Hello.
My unix password sync is working ok, thus when an user changes his
password with "Ctrl+Alt+Del|Change Password" in Windows.
However, if I run "smbpasswd" manually, I get two messages saying
"password changed", but the unix password is not changed.
:(
Is this behaviour the right one?
Thanks.

Migration script from smbpasswd to LDAP
Hi everybody,
i need a migration script from smbpasswd-file to a ldap database. I
searched a lot in google in the archive, but found only hints for
changing the perl scripts of padl migration scripts.
I have only poor perl knowledge, so i ask here, if anybody made a script
which would help me.
Thanks a lot.
