Hi,
I'm a newbie with Samba but believe me prior to posting to the list I have read almost everything out there and still don't get my issue solved. I have also re-installed Samba but still no luck.
I have Samba 3.0.21b installed and had it working for a day. I've installed it using security = ads with winbind and everything was smooth except when I started configuring PAM so

wbinfo -t -u -g not working
Hi,
I have been using a Samba 3.021c server for up to three (3) months now
and suddenly, for some strange reason, I can't issue the wbinfo -u or -g
commands without getting the error:
Error looking up domain users / groups.
When I issue the wbinfo -t command I get:
checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed
error code was (0x0)

HPUX and Samba 3.023 question
I am sorry if this sounds dumb, but I am sort of a newbie with samba.
We have upgraded our active directory domain servers to 2008 and samba
3.07 will not bind to the directory anymore. I have been told that I
need to upgrade past 3.022 in order to make it work? First of all is
this true? Second, when I went to install it and run it there is an
error that it can not find libldap-2.2.so. I

problem with winbind
Hi,
Since 1 month, I tried without any success to configure Samba.
My problem is that winbind crashes when I list users and groups. And I
think that it is linked to my trusted domains (wbinfo -domain=myADdomain
-u works well).
The error is the following :

Regarding posting a package to R-forge (with one of the dependent packages not in CRAN)
Hi Guys,
Recently I wrote a package for dealing with Markov Switching Regressions in
R and it is included in the Rmetrics project.
https://r-forge.r-project.org/projects/rmetrics/
Everything works fine when I use it in computer.
But, the package depends on the use of optimization functions from the
package Rdonlp2, which is not available on CRAN.
So, if I have Rdonlp2 in my laptop (or any

How do I actaully get the current sources from centos-git?
Hi,
I am trying to retrieve the srpm for the latest centos-release pacakge
from centos-git by following the instructions @ https://wiki.centos.org/Sources.
If I run the following commands:
git clone https://git.centos.org/git/rpms/centos-release.git
cd centos-release/
git checkout c7
~/centos-git-common/get_sources.sh
Everything completes without error. The problem is that the sources that get

Hi, just a quick note to whoever is maintaining this page:

The procedure is missing the firewall-cmd calls necessary in EL7:

firewall-cmd --add-port 2345/tcp --permanent
Also, it may be worth mentioning that semanage is in the policycoreutils-python package, which isn?t installed by default in all stock

Samba segs when serving files from a windows partition on OpenBSD-4.2
Hi,
Before I file a bug report, I just wanted to check that samba is capable
of serving files from a FAT32 partition. I have here an OpenBSD-4.2
i386 machine here with a second disk containting files that I will be
sharing via both NFS and samba. The NFS share work great, but samba seg
faults upon a windows client connecting. This occurs when using the
OpenBSD package, and also when built from

Default for bin limits in hist()
Hello all.
I noticed that the default setting for breaks in the construction of histograms in hist() is ?right = TRUE?.
I think ?right=FALSE? would be more consistent with usual definitions of lower and upper limits for bins in applied statistics, and I suggest that you consider making it the default for hist().
For example, I generated the following frequency distribution for duration of

Security through obscurity it may be, but it isn't pointless. Tarpits
are in a similar class; they don't help with security in the absolute
sense, but they slow the attacker down, and that might
