scriptaculous: fade out then in.
I''m pretty new to javascript, and scriptaculous, but I know what I want to do. I want to make it so that when a person clicks a link, the previous content of the div fades out, and the new content fades in. This is what I''ve got for my function: // function loadmerch(im) { new

problems with multiple samba servers in 1 domain
HI, I've got a samba server acting as wins server and domain / local master. It has a few shares which can be accessed fine. It is running FreeBSD w/samba 2.0.7. I have another machine running Linux w/2.0.7 that has a couple shares that is also accessed with no problems. I have a third Linux machine w/2.0.7 that just doesn't seem to want to work when I give it a certain netbios alias.

Problem running stepAIC within a function.
Hi I need to a function that automatically fits a regression to data, using the stepAIC. I've ran the code manually and it works fine. However, when I run the function on the same data, the following error occurs: Problem in regimp(fullsim = simt, fullsim1 = simt1,..: Length of (weights) (variable 4) is 4271 != length of others (4278) I got the function to output the length of the dataset

seeking advice on network troubleshooting strategy
Greetings. The application I am trying to get to work under wine (Cinema4D network rendering client) works nearly OK. Just one crucial bit it fails, very unspectacularly and silently, to do. What it's supposed to do: receiving 3d scenes from a server, rendering those, and sending them back - this all works just as under windows, except for the sending back of files. About the only indication

Printers: Fedora + WinXPHome
I have a network with 1 Linux box (host), 2 Win98 machines, and 1 WinXPHome machine. There is a Deskjet attached to the Linux box, and an HPLJ Postscript attached to one of the PCs. Until recently I was running RH7.1 with Samba 2.x and all computers could print to both printers (which, obviously, were shared). I have recently rebuilt the LInux box, and in the process installed Fedora, with Samba

Summary: Partial correlation coefficients in R. Thanks everybody!
Hello all, here's a collection of answers I got on my question concerning partial correlation coefficients: Some people gave a simple formula for the three-variable-case, as did Dave Lucy: pcor <- function(v1, v2, v3) { c12 <- cor(v1, v2) c23 <- cor(v2, v3) c13 <- cor(v1, v3) partial <- (c12-(c13*c23))/(sqrt(1-(c13^2)) * sqrt(1-(c23^2)))

everybody loves R...
Just thought I'd let you guys know about this site I stumbled across: http://riki.wikidot.com/ http://riki.wikidot.com/ It is obviously in its early stages (as it does not have any content yet) but is looking like a good place to build a simple knowledge base for the R software. Anyway, if any of you have time on your hands, I'm sure they'd appreciate the help. -- View this message
