Roaming profiles and USRMGR.EXE
I'm using Samba 3.0.22 on Ubuntu 6.06.1 as PDC for our Windows
workstations. The passdb backend is tdbsam.
I want to employ roaming profiles and due to the fact that we have a
mixed Windows environment (Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro) I have
the following entry in my smb.conf:
logon path = \\%L\profiles\%U\%a
Basically, this works fine. If a user is working on a W2k workstation,

USRMGR.exe not working properly
Hi there,
I'm running Debian Sarge with the sernet-packages of Samba. Yesterday I
updated from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23. When I start the usrmgr.exe, I still are
able to modify users but I cannot see/modify groups anymore.
Where could I start to find the problem?
Thanks.

Making unix system accounts invisible in USRMGR.EXE
I have a Samba (3.0.22) server (working on Ubuntu 6.06.1) acting as NT
PDC. My passdb backend is tdbsam.
I'm using USRMGR.EXE from Microsoft for user account administration. In
USRMGR.EXE I see all accounts, unfortunately also Ubuntu's system
accounts (like proxy, sync, sshd etc.). Is there any way to make them
invisible for USRMGR.EXE?
Cheers

Matt Fleming to be doing release management for Syslinux
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi all,
I wanted to let everyone know that going forward, Matt Fleming will be
doing at least some of the releases and prereleases for Syslinux.
Other than who pushes the button, there should be little or no change
in how the builds are done, where they are kept and so on.
Thanks Matt!

"usrmgr.exe" issues after upgrade samba
Hello,
After upgrade samba on my 64-bit RHEL4 server from version `3.0.31` to
`3.5.3` everything just works fine, but I only have issues with
`usrmgr.exe`.
Before upgrade, I could manage domain accounts with this utility. Now it say
"Access denied" after running without any detailed information.
I checked out samba logs and didn't found any errors related. How to get it

USRMGR, groups, and ldap
I currently have samba version 3.0.23 installed using ldap as the
backend. I am experiencing the same problems as Holger Wesser mentioned
in his posting "USRMGR.exe not working properly". However, it appears
that the fix of creating the group mappings does not work. They appear
to be mapped correctly on my setup. My net groupmap list is:

Bug-report: Memdisk regression for XMGR DOS memory manager
For the boot floppy at http://superkeen.com/peacecorpsfiles/FUZOMA14.IMG
using memdisk from syslinux version 3.72 boots correctly, but for
memdisk versions newer than 3.72 (I tested 3.73, 3.75, 3.85, and 3.86)
all hang at boot with the following message:

net sam provision
Hello everybody,
I am currently trying to set up a Samba PDC with OpenLDAP.
I am trying to do this with Ldapsam_Editposix (got it from http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix ) instead of the smbldap-tools.
I followed the instructions and everything is set fine. I imported the base structure from the given ldif (edited it to my domain), but when I try to let the command "net sam

Local groups invisible (ldapsam & 3.0.23b, 3.0.23c)
Hello all,
I'm running samba3 as domain controller.
I have upgraded samba from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23b and faced an issue
with groups display: samba does not see any groups.
"net rpc group -U Administrator" returns empty set.
usrmgr.exe does not show any groups also.
Groups are present in ldap, nss_ldap works fine:
# id asv
uid=2005(asv) gid=513(Domain Users) groups=513(Domain Users),

User Management / Samba 3.0.1 LDAP / USERMGR.EXE problems
Hello,
I'm using Samba 3.0.1 with LDAP backend running as a PDC here. When I
start up usrmgr.exe from Windows NT, it will read all the users (or
computers, for srvmgr.exe) in the domain and report them back correctly.
However, whomever I am logged in as ( including gid 512 users) it will not
let me see details or change anything. In the logs after trying to view a
users details I will

RFC: Release process changes
Hi Tom,
can you change your release process in concerns of "RC" releases at
naming convention?
[ Example ]
Git Tag: "llvmorg-10.0.1-rc1"
llvm-project prerelease tarball: "llvm-project-10.0.1rc1.tar.xz"
The release Git tag is called "llvmorg-10.0.1-rc1" (here: "-rc1" with
dash) but the provided prerelease tarballs have "10.0.1rc1"

SMB slow by design?
Hello list,
I have observed quite low bandwidth usage when copying files over SMB.
This happens for at least three cases I have tested:
* Windows 98 SE reading from a Samba 3.0.22 smbd
* Windows XP reading from a Samba 3.0.23d
* smbclient reading from 127.0.0.1 (3.0.23d)
According to iptraf, the average transfer rate was oscillating between
8604.60 kbps and 8654.20 kbit/s, copying a
