WEBRick process not responding after few hours (rails 1.1.6 on linux)
the rail application I have developed (really simple one 2 -> db tables
with no more than 100 records) works perfectly in development /
production mode on my windows desktop (win200 pro + mysql + ruby 1.8.2
+ rails 1.1.6). when deploying the application on linux (ruby 1.8.4 ,
rails 1.1.6 the same mysql as on windows) everything *seems* to work
fine. well atleast for the first few hours. the

Browsing over subnet Problem & nmbd stop working after a few hours
Hi
I have 2 Problems
1.
I have a Samba server acting as a PDC on 2 subnet 192.168.0.xx and
192.168.88.xx, and 2 samba server as a stand alone file sharing server
server. I used iptables to route the two network with the PDC as the router
The PDC acts a DC and a WINS Server , I've set up the dhcp servers to give
the wins address of the PDC, I can call machine in the 192.168.0.xx subnet

Problem : Samba 3.0.2a as PDC with Win2000 Pro
Hi, all....
Honestly I'm a newbie in Linux. For a couple days,
I've been trying to build my own PDC server.
I've got enough manual resource for guidance, but
somehow, untill now I can't log my Win2000 Profesional
into the PDC server.
I'm using Debian sid kernel 2.6.5, Samba 3.0.2a and a
Win2000 box as client. I think there's nothing wrong
with my smb.conf ( I guess...

Hi
I am having the most basic of problems. I have setup a PDC with samba
2.2.2 and am trying to get my Win200) machine to join the domain. I followed the
following proceedure
http://ivy:901/swat/help/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.html#SAMBA-PDC
And when I go to the client W2000 box and change from the workgroup to
join the domain I get a popup which says

Lots of NMBD zombie processes
Hello,
I am running a Samba 4 DC, recently upgraded to the latest version and I
have just installed a member server to run as a File Server (Samba 4.1.9).
While it seems to be working properly, we are getting a lot of zombie nmbd
processes on the member server, running the command *pidof nmbd* results in:
*[root at BHFS01 etc]# pidof nmbd*
*12861 12644 12404 12236 12071 11885 11720 11553 11388

ctdb do not start nmbd if serving AD
ctdb 2.5.3 dual node file server with 4.1.9 serving AD domain
Hi
We have enabled the script at:
/etc/cdb/events.d/50.samba
but when we are the enabled node, it starts not only smbd but also nmbd.
This doesn't make sense in an AD domain. I've tried disabling nmbd
starting under openSUSE's systemd but ctdb overrides that, I've had a
look at the script but can't decipher the bit

Win XP-home connecting to Samba, ahhh, please help!
I'm about ready to pull my teeth out over this. I just installed Red
Hat 8.0, have not used Linux much in the past, which is why I went with
Red Hat, sposeto be easier, more support etc.
The network the Linux box resides in has 2 WinXP-home computers, and a
Win200 Pro computer. They are all sharing all files, no passwords, no
domain, just a workgroup called "ESR".
I just want the

RE: Asterisk license (fwd)
Just FYI, MySQL stuff has been pulled from Asterisk since apparently now
the client libraries are under GPL and not LGPL (and thus are incompatible
with OpenH323). You may check out the MySQL code under "asterisk-addons",
but you should not use both MySQL and OpenH323 (OpenSSL is also
questionable) in the same Asterisk installation unless you downgrade your
MySQL client libraries to a

Can't login samba domain from xp/2k
Hello everybody.
I am having troubles to log on a samba domain from winxp and win
2000 workstations.
I patched the registry with the requiresignorseal=0, changed the local
and group policies (following various comments found on the web), and
added the machine account for samba (obviously, /etc/passwd too). I
tried with samba 3.0.7, 3.0.10 and 3.0.13, Winxp with and without sp2,
and win200

If I understand you correctly, all you want is the PID of the Icecast

nmbd processes hanging
Hello,
I have a Debian machine with samba 3.0.2a-1 (which should bei identical
to samba-latests, AFAIK). For a reason not yet known nmbd processes keep
hanging around forever, eating up memory slowly, but steadily.
Logfiles do not show anything suspicious (to me, at least, I don't want
to put a days level 10 log in here), except from things like

nmbd forkbombed my machine :-\
Hello everyone,
Assuming this is the right place to post potential bug reports, try this :
(Apologies if it's been posted/covered somewhere else, but your lists
don't seem to have a search facility...)
nmbd had a good go at fork bombing my "server" just now, with a setup as
follows :
Samba 2.2.0a on Slackware Linux v8.0, linux kernel 2.4.16. i586 with
500ish mb of ram.

X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
Hi,
Using wineconsole to try a command line program
like ftp.exe (runs fine whithout wineconsole),
it appears that wineconsole slowdowns the system
and use incredible amounts of memory.
These are the messages that appear on the wine command
line :

1.4.1 R CMD check broken?
I am not sure if this is already known. I checked BUGS and found some
references to similar behavior when R_HOME is set?
Here is what I get:
(1) Fresh build of 1.4.1 under Linux/RH-7.2. All tests pass.

I wanted to ask him now, whether this was already with
version 6.
But meanwhile he reported that it was 5.
