sernet samba4 on Ubuntu
I looked at these once, Rowland. I am a novice and not wanting to run
bind9 for the dns (one ADDC and three, maybe four clients) the
SAMBA_INTERNAL DNS has always work fine for me in testing.
These scripts were a "little too advanced" for my experience. (Not that
it won't serve anyone else quite well.)
Just surprised that there is so little, almost non-existent
documentation for

Trouble replicating samba
Dear all,
I'm experencing a big trouble with samba and an instalation we had at my
enterprise's intranet. This intranet is based on a Samba server v2 wich
acts as Primary Domain Controller, wins server and file server. All
these features works great nowadays.
Our issue, is with a newest server that we are interested to replace the
previous samba server in order to improve the performance

Samba not visible in NN with File and Print Services installed on W9x
Hi,
maybe I missed a recent "FDP" (Frequently described problem)in the list, but
maybe somebody can point me to the right direction. There were several
postings about not seeing Samba but none referred the the MS "File and Print
Services" on W9x clients being the cause of the trouble (Hope this is the
correct translation from German W9x).
I've got a Samba 2.0.5a with Suse

adding entry for group Domain Admins failed!
but (note changed rid)

mapping multiple groups with: net groupmap?
Sorry if this is obvious but I'm not up to speed yet
with Samba 3.
Google turned up this command:
net groupmap modify ntgroups="Domain users" unixgroup=users
which would be all fine and dandy if everybody was in the
same primary group, which they are not, since it completely defeats
the purpose of having groups in the first place.
On my system we currently have 87 groups (one
