Before anyone responds I would like to let everyone know my problem is
fixed :) The problem was lpr would only spool so big of a file, so I

CUPS & client driver download
Hi everybody!
I've got a problem with downloading printerdrivers from my win2k box.
Successfully added printer with cupsaddsmb-tool (as root, after
failing as printer admin!!?!?!). The W32X86 and WIN40 directories
have been created as they should and also did the PPD files.
But if I connect to the printer from Win (as printer admin) I get the message that no
driver could be found.

the following command
cupsaddsmb -v -U dwoody canon
It did all of the commands successfully except for the last one. which

W9x doesn't download printer drivers
My W9x clients cannot download printer driver from samba 3.0.2rc1 with
cups 1.1.17, while w2k clients do.
The W9x clients open the Add Printer Wizard, connect to print$ share,
request the ADOBEPS4.DRV file, but they stop at the beginning of the
download.
Permissions on print$\WINNT\0 directory are the same as print$\W32X86\2.

Any help would be appreciated.

WIN40 printer driver on Solaris not being installed?
I am having problems with the driver installation for WIN40 (9x machines) in
Samba 2.2.5 / Samba 2.2.6pre2 on a Solaris 8 machine. I build binary packages
for both debian and solaris environments. For debian 2.2.5, I use the 2.2.5
source with the printing patch provided by Jerry Carter. I use the
packaging/Debian/debian systems to build and package the source. For Solaris

Problems adding print drivers
Hey folks.
I am trying to set up a cups/samba printer server, and I am having trouble using cupsaddsmb.
I isolated the problem to a rpcclient and here is the information I gathered from the various commands.
If I delete all the files in "/var/lib/samba/drivers" cupsaddsmb installs the folders and files, but doesn't move the files in to the WIN40/0 folder with the adddriver

Samba+CUPS+Driver autodownload
Hi,
I'm trying to get Samba to offer the Adobe driver automatically for the
two printers I have set up with CUPS.
I have all of the necessary files plucked out of the Adobe Postscript
Windows driver package, but I'm hitting the problem when I come to run
"cupsaddsmb -v ..." that the "rpcclient adddrivers" command always fails
with NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL. The drivers

We got the following problem:
We try to use samba 2.2.5 as a printserver for windoze clients

CUPS works w/o any problems, but when we try to generate the drivers for
the windoze clients (by using cupsaddsmb), we get the following error:

Samba+CUPS+Drivers autodownload
Hi Matt,
the problem you referred to is discussed in detail
as bug #82 in Samba's bug tracking tool. It consists
of 2 bugs. One prevents the registration of drivers
and is due to a NULL-pointer passed from that part
of code in rpc_server/srv_spoolss_nt.c which calls
sys_adminlog function. It begins with the comment
/* BEGIN_ADMIN_LOG */
and ends with the comment
/* END_ADMIN_LOG */

Samba and roadrunner/remote access?
I have samba setup for our department and it's working fine, with mounting
drives and using printers...
now I want to be able to do the same thing for all faculty with roadrunner
access from home.
I've put the ip xxx.xxx. of the local road runner in the smb.conf file for
hosts to allow, and the machine knows about the server by adding it to
c:\windows\lmhosts.sam

HP Deskjet drivers, Samba and Cups
I have Samba 2.2.7 running on Redhat 8 (fully updated). I have two printers
set up - a laser and a Deskjet 920C both connected to the Redhat server via
USB cables. Printing is managed using CUPS although I get the same problem
with LPR and Webmin configured printers. The laser works fine, the deskjet
doesn't. The deskjet works with a generic windows HP Deskjet or HP Deskjet

NT printing problem
I've got Samba 2.0.3 running on my Linux box.
Marvin is the samba server. Bugs is the NT box.
Attached is the relevant part of my smb.conf file. I removed several parts
from what's attached to save bandwidth. What you see is simply the part
that pertains to my printer.
I can't print to the DeskJet printer. The printer appears in my network
neighborhood, but I just can't get
