[PATCH] btrfs: fix write_dev_supers
Hi. I got following BUG trace. This is violation of BUG_ON(!buffer_locked(bh)) check on submit_bh() function. In write_dev_supers(), if wait parameter is set and buffer_uptodate() check is negative, submit_bh() is executed and hit above BUG_ON. So I fixed this issue. Thanks. testing a 2000 queues print server with smbtorture
Hi everyone, I'm very interested in samba testing subject. Because I need to plan a samba/cups/linux 2000 queues print server migration from W2K. But before that, I wanted to generate the service load before listen users claiming the server is running under a low performance. Somebody knows a good test set to simulate printing share connections from clients in my print server using

tdb search optimization
I'm running: # smbd -V Version 3.0.24-2.28-1354-SUSE-CODE10 In a 600 print queues print server, but I'm experiencing a low performance while using the first queue. I was attaching ltrace/strace to some processes with "use mmap=no" and I found a BIG difference in information gathering in ntprinters.tdb between the first and the last print queue (using alphabetical sorting). print server performance issues
I'm migrating a 1.000 queues windows print server with AD very critical enviroment to linux/cups/samba solution. Initially, everything working fine, but when reached paroximately 400 queues created the server is getting degradated. The browsing of printers shares is very low. Many times during the day smbd and winbindd need to be restarted to stop the degradation. I didn't found any

Windows != Samba - NETBIOS name handling
Hi, I'm using samba just for its "net join" functionality. Computer accounts and kerberos keytabs are created by Samba in Active Directory via "net ads join", then used by UNIX clients to authorise and authenticate via LDAP and Kerberos. Samba works perfectly until the computers hostname is longer than 15 characters. Then any attempt to join the domain fails with: ----

trust domain list
Hi everybody. When using the command: # net rpc trustdom list what is the difference in output between: The "trusted" domains list and "trusting" domains list? Which operations are performed in both actions? My example: net rpc trustdom list Trusted domains list: DOMA S-1-5-21-790525478-1844823847-725345543 DOMB

running winword under wine from an existing windows installtion
Hi, I have just built wine from source(by running wineinstall as root). I have two windows partitions mounted to different directories in my linux setup. Wine detected these during wineinstall: *************************************************************** Windows was found on your system, and so we can use the Windows Drive as our Wine drive. You may, however, wish to create a clean Wine

Getting a do_IRQ: xx.xxx No irq handler for vector (irq -1), any ideas?
I setup a CentOS 6 server to use with KVM/QEMU, and I am getting the following error a good bit, granted it doesn't seem to be causing any trouble. I figured I would post and see if anyone has any ideas on the issue, or if I can just dismiss it. If I look at my logging/dmesg, I see: do_IRQ: 19.217 No irq handler for vector (irq -1) do_IRQ: 3.178 No irq handler for vector (irq -1) do_IRQ:

Workaround for ACL and file attributes
Just thought I'd post a simple workaround for Windows ACL's and file attributes for rsync. Using some basic scripting will allow ACL information to be stored for future use on files transferred using rsync. Most will probably find the information worthless but thought I'd post it anyway. - To get ACL information, use the icacls program provided as part of Server 2003 SP1

flashing a BIOS on an HP server
Hi, folks, Since I've gotten a total of one response in days on the HP forum, maybe the collective mind here has an answer.... As I've mentioned in other posts, we have an HP dl580 g5 that started throwing ECC errors. But wait, it's worse: memory is mirrored.... And the thing is fully populated with 32 DIMMs. I took my best guess, pulled the matching set of DIMMs, and took two

facter-1.6.0 incorrectly identifies hardware node as virtual
I''ve installed facter-1.6.0 and puppet-2.7.3 on a number of SLES 10 hardware nodes (HP DL580) running the Virtuozzo hosting software. Well, facter correctly identifies such a machine as a hardware node ("virtual => openvzhn") but somehow concludes that the hardware node is in fact virtual. ("is_virtual => true") This breaks some rather important logic. If

semi-OT: HW
Running CentOS 6.7, on an older HP DL580 G5. We've got a Dell 12-bay RAID box plugged into a PERC H800 (aka LSI Liberator) that we put in the HP, and that works fine. We've got a new RAID (a JetStor), and are trying to plug it in. The layout is that the Dell RAID is dual-pathed DAS. Each PERC has two DAS ports. We've got the Dell RAID in the top port of each PERC. I *thought* I could

DIMM problem
Hey, folks, I've got an HP Proliant DL580 G5 throwing ECC errors. This is annoying, since a) it's all new as of a few months ago, and b) it's *fully* populated. The two things I need to figure out are a) *which* DIMM it is, and b) is it mirrored; if so, which *other* DIMM needs to come out until we get replacements from the OEM. Here's one of many, all identical, from dmesg:
