Portable OpenSSH and GSSAPI
Dear developers,
I am already playing with openssh + heimdal krb5 + gssapi on Tru64Unix
5.1a and Irix 6.5.20, but with no much success. The worst problem I
experience is following:
- gethostbyname on tru64unix returns short host name instead of fqdn. But
even if I overcome this problem by appending the domain name to the lname
variable in gss-genr.c file and get over this problem, gss-api does

ADDENDUM: Portable OpenSSH and GSSAPI
Dear developers,
to my previous post I have some additional info. I just erased all the
krb5 data and set it up from scratch. Now the message in sshd debug
changed to:
debug1: Miscellaneous failure (see text)
Decrypt integrity check failed
debug1: Got no client credentials
Failed gssapi-with-mic for komanek ....
So it seems the problem is somewhere in the kerberos, not in openssh. Is

F-secure -> Openssh Compatibility (fwd)

From: "W. Scott Wilburn" <wilburn at lanl.gov>

Subject: F-secure -> Openssh Compatibility
We have Macintoshes running Fsecure SSH client 1.0.1 which are unable to
connect to a server running Openssh 2.1.1 on Red Hat 6.2.
I believe that the problem is a bug with Fsecure, since a 30-day trial
version of 1.0.2 works

Missing "ISO8859-1.so" on Tru64Unix
Hello,
I am testing Samba 3.0.0 on a Tru64Unix v 5.1b. I compile it with gcc et
gnumake.
I am able to start it and I can see a share.
Until now, I have only one problem: Logs are full of messages like
"Error loading module '/usr/local/samba/lib/charset/ISO8859-1.so': dlopen:
Can't open needed library: /usr/local/samba/lib/charset/ISO8859-1.so"

SSHD Bug with Pam/Winbind on FreeBSD ver5.2
I've reproduced this bug in versions openssh-3.7p1 and openssh-3.8p1
I've verfived that it works PERFECTLY in versions openssh-3.6p1 and
openssh-2.9p2
I have not tested any other versions.
The problem is sshd will not authenticate passwords off a NT4 domain using
winbind and pam.
Broken Debug output is:

R-1.7.1 regression test failure on alphaev68-dec-osf5.1
I'm attempting to compile and install R version 1.7.1 for my statistical
geneticists. It seems to compile correctly -- that is, it compiles
without errors -- but the regression test is failing in the following
manner:

Compiling Samba 2.2.5 on Tru64 UNIX
Hello users,
I'm new to this list, so forgive me if this has been diskussed before.
I'm trying to compile samba 2.2.5 on a Alpha box with Tru64UNIX v4.0f patchkit
6. configure went ok. While running (gnu)make I get a warning. I do not exactly
know what this means and want to clarify what to do.
The config line is:

v2.5.5: logging failure triggers infinite loop and core dump
(problem encountered on Tru64Unix v4.0f with rsync 2.5.5)
A failure to write to stdout or stderr in rwrite (log.c:279) will
trigger an endless loop as follows:
0 rprintf calls rwrite
1 rwrite calls fwrite
2 fwrite fails
3 rwrite calls _exit_cleanup
4 _exit_cleanup calls log_exit
5 log_exit calls rprintf
6 rprintf calls rwrite

Various platforms
Hello,
I've been compiling OpenSSH up on just about every platform that I can
get my hands on. I am not certain of the best way of building my
'fixes' into the source tree, not least of all since I didn't worry about
#ifdef's or the configure scripts. However hopefully this will be of use
to you. This is all for openssh-2.2.0p1 compiled alongside
openssl-0.9.5a and

Failed building 3.0.30 for tru64 4.0F
Dear friends,
I failed to buld samba 3.0.30 for tru64unix 4.0F.
I am curently locked to this os version due to other production

We currently run Samba 2.2.8a but we were requested to upgrade by our
network group.
I downloaded 3.3.30 and did
$ cd source
$ ./configure
no warnings or errors as far as I could see, except
checking for replacing readdir using getdirentries()...
