acl_tdb failed to convert file acl to posix permisions
We are using SAMBA 3.6.6 on Centos 5 with the acl_tdb VFS module. Our share is backed by storage on a SAN devices that does not support ACLs or extended attributes ... so we're trying the acl_tdb module as a mechanism to support Windows ACLs. We have verified that samba has ACL support enabled, and ACL support works find if we export the share from the local EXT4 filesystem.

Need some ACL help for win32-file
Hi folks,
I''ve got most everything done for the pure Ruby version of win32-file.
The last thing left (since I''ll be moving the IO methods to a different
package eventually) is the file security stuff. Here''s what I''ve got so
far for the get_permissions method. However, I''m stuck at GetAce(). If
someone could help me finish up this method, I

Problem with ACLs "Too many ACE entries for file to convert to posix perms."
At the suggestion of Stas, I'm starting a new thread on this one. This
pretty much covers where I'm at right now:
Doug, thanks, here's a complete listing of the config file, and some
logging, hopefully this will be illuminating to somebody.

Yes, I've been setting it in the init script. When I do ps -ef | grep

Access Denied when changing ACLs from W2000 client
Hi all
I'm having some problems trying to configure ACLs from a Win2000 SP3
client. I'm running Samba 2.2.5 on kernel 2.4.18 (with acl + ext attr),
Samba is compiled with acl support etc.
Samba is configured with security=domain, and is running with local
groups etc rather than thru winbind, I haven't been game enough to tread
those waters yet.
With the debug level set to 5

problems with ace (ape-package)
Hi everyone
I am trying to reconstruct ancestral character states with R. I used the ace
function of the package ape. I have discrete characters and tried to use the
ER and ARD model.
The problem is, that I get negative lik$anc values. Does anybody by chance
have an idea what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance

Ace of Spades
I'm trying to install Ace of Spades via Wine however I can't seem to get it to work even following the instructions.
I'm using Lubuntu 10.10 and no matter what I do I can't get wine to recognize or do anything with the .msi file (I've tried "wine start").
Anyone have any idea? Thanks!

ace () - again
Dear all,
I am still trying to find out what goes wrong when I use ace (I get an
'NAs in foreign fuction call (arg3)' but when I go through it with debug
there seem no data to be missing).
I had some errors (see at end of message) while installing 'acepack'. Do
you think it is possible that these lead to the fact, that simple problems
run ok but larger problems result in an

It's impossible to say. This sort of marketing statement is impossible to refute, because there are no details. Who knows whether

Update to SecurID ACE patches
Hello,
I've redone Theo Schlossnagle's SecurID patches for openssh to support
the ACE 5.0 API. The new API takes advantage of two-step authentication
and multithreaded support.
If anyone is interested, please let me know. I've tried contacting
Theo for him to incorporate it, but haven't received any respose yet.
Note that Theo's patch includes a "AllowNonSecurID"

Managesieve AUTHENTICATE with IDN using UTF-8 or encode into ACE?
Hey dovecot-users,
clients that speak telnet based protocols like http, smtp usually encode
IDN (International Domain Names) containing UTF-8 characters into ACE
(ASCII Compatible Encoding) punycode.
I am wondering what the case was with managesieve (RFC 5804). For
example if I was using a username like "user@???.example.com" with the
AUTHENTICATE command. Would that need to be encoded

Using ACE in the ape package
Having a problem running the ace command in ape.
After reading my table into R and then putting the names of the rows in the
table in same order as the tree I can't get ace to run and get the message

This is the command I am using and each of the vectors used in the

does any package have the functionality of ace() from old acepack?
I found the old ace function (from acepack) valuable a couple of years ago
in helping to find a transformation of the response to approximate
additivity in smooth functions of the predictors.
ace used alternating conditional expectations, but I'm not overly fixated on
algorithms as long
as it works pretty well.
Is there another package that has that sort of functionality? I haven't been

idea for (further) debugging ace ()?
Dear all,
I am trying to use ace on a 446 x 14 Matrix, with two categorical
variables in the first two columns. If I try to run it I get:
> aceiH <- ace (data.mat, resp, cat= 1:length(x.cat))

There is only one .Fortran call in ace () with the third argument being
x = t(x). Thus I tried to debug ace, i.e. I went through ace until just

avas and ace
Hi,
Does any one know how we can decide on the correct transformation in (avas and ace) after having drawn the graphs y,g(y) x ,s(x) and g(y) ,s(x) . Is it possible by only looking at patterns the graphs follow for example when
y ,g(y) shows a logaritmic pattern can we say that log transform on y is suitable?
Thanks for your help.
