Please help with samba 3.0.21a on AIX 5.3
I've tried building samba 3.0.20 and 21a without luck. I've tried binaries and they all give this error. I know I am missing something but nothing points to a solution.

Samba 2.2.5 pbedit
Hi all
Have an installation that is having problems using samba 2.2.5 on AIX

When I try to use the pdbedit command I get the following
What I ultimately want to do is have samba expire and force the users to
change their passwords periodically.
I realize that it looks like I am missing a lib here but which one and

Samba and Seq. Read ahead.
Please don't shoot me for cross posting, but I wanted to share this with
everyone.
Just thought you'd like to know that I've discovered a very interesting
thing about AIX and Samba with respect to Sequential Read Ahead.
I had been tracking a number of issues related to performance on my Samba
2.2.7a server and didn't have any issues other than lengthy profiles when

[PATCH]vtd, one more fix about PMR disable
One more fix about PMR disable.
Move PMR disable into per-iommu enable function, instead of in
current iommu_setup which only takes effect on first VT-d engine.
This change also enlightens S3 resume path.

SAMBA eats up all memory...
Hello,
I am running SAMBA 2.0.7.0 on AIX 4.3.3.0
I have a 1 Tera Byte filesystem on AIX made available to NT and MAC.
There is heavy IO activity on this filesystem and all of a sudden the NT's
and MAC's can't read or write any file on this shared filesystem.
Also AIX is running out of memory whenever this happens and files cannot be
copied onto the said filesystem even at unix

Win2k & 2.0.7
When I try to join the Win2k machine to a domain, I get the following message:
The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "WIN2K":
The procedure number is out of range.
This is a Win2k PC attempting to join to AIX 4.3.2 running samba 2.0.7. Any
ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

root preexec & 2.0.7
I a have a problem resulting from a neat tool I developed through the use of the
"root preexec" option:
This is done in the [homes] section of smb.conf.
I launch a shell script with the user name (%u) and machine name (%m). The shell
calls a C program to check the users quota and returns a code as the percentage
of quota used.
Meanwhile, all output of the C program has been captured

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc and -march
The -arch option is handled by Apple's "driver-driver", and the MacPorts build is probably not using that. See the driverdriver.c source file in llvm-gcc for details.

Multiple smbd processes generated
We have an occasional problem which manifests with multiple processes
being created for a particular user. For example, for a user "xy004":

xy004 9426 0.0 0.0 5.99M 0K ?? IW 11:52:18 0:03.68 smbd

He's asking about the -march option which should work either way.
Also, the driver-driver should be in the sources that they're using even still.

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc and -march
So my original post subject was for -march, but that was my mistake.
The command line option
is -arch.
Since presumably Macports is just fetching an llvm tar ball from some
repository, is the issue that llvm
has been misconfigure in some obvious way? Yes, I can take a look at
the driverdriver.c source file
as well.
Should this also be working in LLVM 2.9 or is the latest SVN also needed?

cannot start smbd on AIX 5.3
Help please.
I am in the process of configuring Samba 3.0.14a onto 4 AIX 5.3 systems.
It seems to be working OK on 3 of the 4, but on the last one, I cannot
start smbd.
nmbd seems to start fine.
The smb.conf file matches the other servers except that the server name
is changed.
Here's the error showing up on the log.smbd file.

SOLVED was Re: Any ESRI users? Upgrade 3.0.14 to 3.0.21a broke Arcmap layer loading?
Did not hear from anyone on this, so maybe we are the only ESRI users who
got bit, but this turned out to be an issue with oplocks. Disabling oplocks
on the server eliminated the problem.

ssh 4.x using aix 5.3 auditing
Im trying to identify how ssh 4.5 interacts with the audit subsystem within AIX 5.3. i get an event when a user logs in, but not when they exit via ssh. i can get it to work with telnet, however. It would seem to me that if an event is captured from the login, that the same would be true for the logout. I've opened a PMR w/IBM, but not getting very much help.
below is an example of my
