run R script automatically by double-clicking WinXP desktop icon
I've written a simple script that does some surveillance analysis on daily counts of walk-in clinic visits, for our county health department. (Actually, Michael Hohle's surveillance package does all the work; I just customized it a little to work with the way our data are recorded.) The output consists of a graph and a little table. My colleague will run it once in a while, on

Opening Rgui by double-clicking R script
Hi, all, This is for R-2.5.0 on WinXP and in particular RGui. I'm trying to teach some colleagues of mine R and rather than impose Xemacs/ESS upon them I decided to simply start by showing them RGui. When R is installed, R workspaces (.RData) are automatically registered so that I can double-click on them in Explorer RGui opens with the correct working directory. However, I cannot figure

Open a specific program when double clicking its file?
I have the FreeShip windows program running in PCLinuxOS under wine and its .fbm files always open properly when I double-click them. I also have the KayakFoundry windows program running in PCLinuxOS under wine, yet this program's .yak files fail to open properly when I double click them. Instead I get this error: > > KDEInit could not launch '/home/ken/files/computer/wine

open .r files with double-click
Hi Folks, On Windows XP, R 2.5.0. After reading the Installation for Windows and Windows FAQs, I cannot resolve this. I set file types so that Rgui.exe will open .r files. When I try to open a .r file by double-clicking, R begins to launch, but I get an error message saying "Argument 'C:\Documents and Settings\Zoology\My Documents\trial.r' _ignored_" I click OK, and then R

space in user dir?
This is obviously not a long term acceptable solution. Could someone please enlighten me as to the permanent solution, or at least see why it doesn't work? This is not my problem, therefore I have not had the opportuntity to test - I don't have a version that old. Let me know if it is solved in a newer version as well. Thanks. It is a workable solution, although the generally accepted

Double-clicking in tk list dialogs
Am I the only one who finds himself futilely double-clicking a CRAN mirror in the dialog for choosing a CRAN mirror? Yes, double-clicking works in Windows, but not in the Tk-based dialog on Linux. I'm going to wear out my mouse button. Adding the following line to the tk_select.list function in the tcltk package adds double-click functionality to list dialogs: tkbind(box,

(windows xp) start script on startup / double clicking on the script
hi, I am still trying to figure out how it is possible to start an R- script via the R-GUI directly by double-clicking on the script file in windows xp. On Mac OS I have the option "start script in the editor" in the preferences. But on windows XP I always get the "ARGUMENT 'c:\...\...' ___ignored___" error when I try to associate the .R extension with the

Double-clicking on Window "Locks it in Place"
Hi List (For any WindowMaker/GNUStep gurus on the list :-) ) I'm configuring a kiosk type system, editing the windowmaker default configuration files directly. Somehow, my configuration results in my application being locked in place on startup, unless I left double-click the titlebar first, following which I can move the application window. If I double-click the title bar once it again,

Can't access Samba shares from Nautilus
Hi, I'm currently experimenting with Samba on a few sandbox machines. On the server side, I have setup CentOS 7 with a basic Samba setup and two shares, one public, the other password-protected. I have two Windows 7 boxes in my network, and I can access the shares perfectly, log in to the password-protected share, read and write files, so this seems to work OK. On my main Linux workstation

WinXX file locking on mouse over
Hi everyone, We have found a wierd feature/bug while using Samba 2.2.4. We have gotten it properly set up as a PDC, and have been happily using it in production for about a month now, with very good results. It has replaced our aging WinNT server with much more performance and no problems, other than one inconvenience: When a Windows user running MS Office 2k (this is all we have tested with at

Roughly I wrote a short code below. You see that I suppose that the user will choose four coordinates inside the region of intersection between three segmentes. Terrible clicking on T1
Hey All, I have an Asterisk box connected to a Nortel Option 11C via a T1. In the Asterisk box we have a Sangoma A101C and in the Nortel we have a TMDI card. The Nortel is also hooked to the PSTN via a T1 on a different NTAK09 PRI card. I've included the Zapata.conf and zaptel.conf files below. Our issue is that when a call is sent over the tie line between the two systems, the audio on the

Reorder lists only after clicking link
Yo, I have created the usual list that uses drag and drop to reorder stuff and it all works fine. But I don''t want the list to be draggable until someone clicks a button (or link) to enable the reordering. My only idea so far is to have the drag handles hidden with javascript and the show them onclick, but this is messy. Is there not a clean way to do this? Is there a way to

How to open a file in MS Office with double-click
I really enjoy MS Office 2003 on wine (Ubuntu Intrepid). I even figured out how to export files as PDF without distortion. There is one thing though I'm not satisfied with: Double-clicking on .doc, .xls. etc.. file starts corresponding office application (Word, Excel) with blank page instead of opening the file. I entered correct path to file but does not work. Of course it?s not a huge

Clicking Problems with slightly clipped audio
It appears that both the echo canceller and the noise reducer (NR) introduce rather severe clicking artifacts when presented with audio that has slightly overloaded the A/D converters. I am talking about speech that sounds just slightly distorted, due to clipping, when simply played back. If I pass that speech through the echo canceller or the noise reducer, it acquires really loud clicks and/or
