Dangling MS Access DB Lock Files *.ldb
I have an intermittent problem with dangling MS Access DB lock files. In a productive environment with N batch queus (each on a separate Windows XP Professional) a scheduler PC dispatches the work load to a free queue by means of modifying a simple MS Access DB file called "PRIM.mdb", which resides on a Samba 3.0.20 share. Each free queue PC polls the same MS Access DB file every 60

SeBackupPrivilege
We're using Samba 3.0.21a-1 on a CentOS 4.2 server (kernel 2.6.9-22.0.2.ELsmp); everything works more or less fine, it's functioning as the PDC with an OpenLDAP back end (setup essentially straight from the Idealx.org playbook), etc. We're trying to mount Windows shares to back them up, and getting "permission denied" errors when trying to read certain files from those

how to check open connections/files without smbstatus / swat
Hi, I have one user who should be able to _view_ all open files and connections on a samba server. He should not be allowed to login to the server by telnet or ssh to use smbstatus, nore should he be able to use swat as long as he could view the configfile. So my question: is there a way to configure swat for one user to only view the opened connections? Or dose someone has an other idea?

Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? I am including my smb.conf file, below: # Global parameters [global] workgroup = DC1 netbios name = SSP1 server string = Samba Server encrypt passwords = Yes update

swat help files broken...
Does anyone know when the brocken helpfiles are going to be fixed? Or maybe where I can copy them to make them work? I am running 3.0.21a and the Changelog states that it should be fixed, however I don't see it that way... Thanks for any pointers... Frank

Cannot start SWAT on Solaris 8 server - libiconv.so.2: open
No one on the planet has seemed to answer this question. After an hour or so of trying to fix this problem myself, I now have the answer, at least a temp fix for it. I just linked /usr/local/lib/libiconf.so.2 /lib/libiconf.so.2 in Solaris 9. Seems to get Swat working again. ========= Original message ========= Hi! I'm having some trouble getting SWAT to run on a

SWAT works with Webmin but not via localhost:901
I have tried everything that I know of. I have reviewed the services file and the swat file in xinetd.d a tun of times. It appears, via netstat that swat is listening on port 901. However when I attempt to access it via the Mozilla browser on my Fedora server (with 127.0.0.1:901 or localhost:901) nothing happens. It just sits there. swat on red hat 7.2
Hi, I'm having a minor issue with swat on red hat 7.2. It won't let me make any changes to the samba server (adding shares, printers, and global definitions). The buttons to access these simply don't exist. I can view status, but I can't make any changes (not even restart the daemons). This works fine on my Debian system. The only real difference that I can think of is inetd
