Freeradius logon with machine account...
With Samba in NT mode, i was able to enable wireless access using
machine account, and worked decently.
Now i want to try again in AD mode, but i've not found info, and i've
just hit a trouble:

Bug in freeradius 1.1.3-1.5.el5_4 rpm
I upgraded one of my servers to CentOS 5.4 today. The freeradius
service (radiusd) didn't start up due to permissions errors. I tracked
it to the permissions on the /etc/raddb/certs/ directory being set to
640 rather than 750, so the radius user couldn't enter the directory.
In the spec file from the source rpm, line 200 should read:
%attr(750,root,radiusd) %config (noreplace)

Local groups invisible (ldapsam & 3.0.23b, 3.0.23c)
Hello all,
I'm running samba3 as domain controller.
I have upgraded samba from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23b and faced an issue
with groups display: samba does not see any groups.
"net rpc group -U Administrator" returns empty set.
usrmgr.exe does not show any groups also.
Groups are present in ldap, nss_ldap works fine:
# id asv
uid=2005(asv) gid=513(Domain Users) groups=513(Domain Users),

Asterisk Radius CDR
Hi Andrew and Willy,
Thanks for sharing the info.
As for enabling radius server debugging 'radiusd -X', made some test calls
don't see the radiusclient sending data to radius server. However, using
radtest or radiusclient testing, able to send data to radius server (after
enabling debug).
For further testing, on my other server using OpenSIPs, setup the
radiusclient and data was

ntlm_auth
Hi all,
I don?t have much experience with Samba so I would like to apologize in
advance if I talk about very simple things. I've got a freeradius 1.0.1
server running fine with OpenLDAP on a RedHat 9.0 and now I would like to
authenticate against an Active Directory. I can do it with TLS, but when I
try to do it with PEAP, it doesn works. I read about it and found out that

Samba 3: "restrict anonymous = 2" breaks domain joining
Hello,
Despite not having received any input on my last problem, I managed to
work it out and now I've finally got a working Linux PDC with ldapsam
and non-root domain admin. As it turned out, the problems were caused
by a combination of Samba settings, too tight security on Windows boxes
and, in case of XP x64, a need for some patches against Samba source
code; here I would like to ask a

Time-Series, multiple measurements, ANOVA model over time points, analysis advice
Hi,
I have some general questions about statistical analysis for a research
dataset and a request for advice on using R and associated packages for a
valid analysis of this data. I can only pose the problem as how to run
multiple ANOVA tests on time series data, with reasonable controls of the
family-wise error rate. If we run analysis at many small sections of a long
time-series, the Type-I

Samba PDC with ldapsam - unable to join the domain
Hello everyone,
That's it, I give up - I've got no idea what's going on with the damn
thing... Maybe you will be able to help.
Here is the deal: I've got a Linux machine running Samba which is to
operate as a PDC for a bunch of W2k Pro and XP Pro machines. Since all
user data on that server is stored in LDAP, I figured it would be good
to have Samba use it as well. While setting

ntlm_auth and freeradius
Dear All,
I'm trying to setup FreeRADIUS to authenticate a machine account to grant access to wifi for domain-connected machines. I think I've got the GPO's set up properly and the CA deployed to the clients, as I'm not getting any errors there.
The errors I'm getting are to do with ntlm_auth not authenticating my machine account. Everything looks OK (to me) on the command

smbpasswd -e (3.0.10)
AIX 5.2, OpenLDAP 2.2.20
We've just moved to LDAP (this weekend) and when I do a smbpasswd -e to
enable a user it is prompting for a "New SMB password:"
I've secured the attributes like so:
access to dn.subtree="ou=People,dc=hvcc,dc=edu" attrs=userPassword
by self write
by dn="cn=root,dc=hvcc,dc=edu" write
by * auth
