Hi,
after a problem last week with a kerberos security update from
microsoft and my samba version I updated samba to 3.0.20. On most
machines this works like a charm, but on one of them smbd crashes on
startup. This is whet comes up in the logfile.

samba stops when cups is giving up
Hi,
we are running cups as print service on a single server. This server is
also running
samba to export the printer for the windows world.
However sometimes we get the following messages on the samba file server.
At this time the cupsd is still running, but not accessible. So looking
at the status of the cupsd
is not helpful.
Two questions:
Whats going on with the cupsd ?
Why is samba

3 simple questions
Hi. I am running 3.0.20.
1. I would like to have an include statement pointing to user
configurations. For a user, say 'mike', the following works:
include = /home/mike/smb.conf
But this does not:
include = /home/%u/smb.conf
I am using a very simple config with 'security = user'. What am I doing
wrong?
I cannot get any log feedback from this ('testparm' says

Re: Intermittent "internal error: signal 11" with 3.0.24
Hi all
Follow up to this post, as it didn't seem to go through the
first time. We have a common problem occurring with our
Samba setups. We run 3 (identical) processing environments
that each contain a Samba host sharing approx .5TB of data
to 6 Wintel machines.
Normally these hosts operate fine, though we intermittently
experience a Samba panic (intermittent = every 2-3 days) as
per below.

Samba 3.2.6 upgrade -> smbd panic in printing.
Hello,
upgraded to Samba 3.2.6, and immediately printing went into coma. Observed
that printers lose their configurations (driver models, locations, etc).
And if I reset the printer drivers on each share, eventually they will be
lost again.
Looking at the logs we are getting panics like this:

SWAT Won't Start - Alarm Clock
Hey everyone,
If anyone could help me with this problem, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Whenever I try to start swat (from the command-line by invoking
/usr/sbin/swat), it sits there for a very long time as if it's running,
but any attempt to use telnet to the port or point my browser at it
results in nothing, as if swat were just not running. Firewalling is no
issue, I've disabled
