Rails as SOAP client with .NET web service
Hi
For an application we need to obtain data from a .NET
based web service. I''ve been "playing" with some
sample code to invoke web services as a soap client.
They work ok with services that offer a .wsdl link.
However, .NET based services are called with
"*.asmx?WSDL".
The wsdlDriver (I guess SOAP4R) barfs on this.
Anybody have practical experience and willing/able

original filename doesn't display in file_field
In my item upload view I have:
<%= file_field ''item'', ''file'' %>
and in my Item model:
def file
@file
#@file.original_filename # <- also tried this
end
def file=(file)

And if the upload bails because of errors (and renders the same page), all other fields
(text_field, text_area, etc.) retain their inputted values, but the file

Incoming extension not working.
Hi, all. I'm probably doing Something Dumb(tm), so please feel free to
point out whatever I'm missing, no matter how stupid.
Anyway, I've got IAX set up to Vitelity. When I try to call my DID, I get:
Rejected connect attempt from 64.2.142.19, who was trying to reach

This leads me to my first question -- why doesn't it show a context?

wxruby.so error with weft-qda
Dear wxruby users
I''ve been trying to get wxruby-based weft-qda 0.9.6 running on a linux from
scratch 6.1 system (this list had a discussion about weft-qda last year and
alex fenton''s also been trying to help me out - no luck so far).
I get stuck with wxruby 0.60 (I think). I compiled wxruby against wxGTK 2.4.2
(without gtk2, without unicode - gtk+ version is 1.2.10) - after

Problem with Promise Ultra100 controllers & 2.6.9-42 kernel
When I boot my Centos home file server with the latest kernel,
2.6.9-42.0.10.EL, the two Promise controllers installed in the system are
unable to enable the 2nd IDE Channel on both cards due to a memory conflict.
The error indicates that the next block of memory is already allocated. So the
2nd IDE channel on each card does not get enabled. Listing of the two
controllers is below:

Hello,
How does one use Speex from Java? Your documentation
page is empty and is from 2003!!

I am writing an application that records small
audio segments from the users and automatically
uploads to the webserver where others can also
listen to it. They are not aware of the files being

Samba 3.0.22 PDC - "The parameter is incorrect"
Hi everyone;
I have searched the internet up & down for an answer to this problem. I'm stumped.
Here's what I've got:
Samba 3.0.22 configured as a PDC using tdbsam as the passdb backend (switching to LDAP when I get everything working).
testparm says everything is fine. I've added the root user and a normal user to the database (using smbpasswd). I even went so

XO Flex T-1 & Asterisk
I have an XO t-1 line which includes VOIP on 5 lines. When a call
comes in, it drops the bandwidth on the t1 and when the call is over
bandwidth is restored. The provided a channel bank which does this.
My question is, if I use asterisk, then am I losing double bandwidth
for each call? For example the only way I guess I can connect to the
lines is from the 66block they provided which

Beware - Yum 3.5 to 3.6 upgrade replaces named.conf
You get so used to yum upgrades going so smoothly but
I learned the hard way to always make a thorough
inspection after a yum update. I let yum go ahead and
upgrade from 3.5 to 3.6. Afterwards I made some basic
queries to httpd, postfix and bind named (probably a
cached query). I even checked the /var/named/
directory and saw all my hosts files.
So looked like another smooth ride, well until

how to include FLAC in a CoreAudio wave player
Hi everyone,
I'm still new at this audio development thing in OSX
as all of my prior experience is in database
applications. I'm also new to C++ and the Xcode
environment, which makes things interesting as I
learn.
There is a CoreAudio wave player written in C++ to
which I would like to add FLAC playback support. I
have looked through the libFLAC++ API and think I have
an idea of what
