Windows clients aren't synching profiles
Hi. I used to have samba set up on a Fedora Core 3 server that acted as a
PDC for a dozen Windows XP clients. I hade roaming profiles working fine.
Then I decided to upgrade (reformat) to Fedora Core 6 for the added harware
support. I didn't save the right files and hosed my roaming profile (SID
issue, I guess). Now I'm remaking the PDC on Fedora Core 6. I'll start

samba 3.5.6 as PDC & LDAP - roaming profile problem
Hi all;
for few weeks I'm trying to implement a new samba PDC server for my school.
It is based on debian squeeze and samba 3.5.6 with lDAP backend.
I was able to join a computer into domain, LDAP is working, mapping home
drive for users also.
It seems that almost all works good but with one exeption. The one thing
which is broken is roaming profile support.
When user is logging into domain

Slow performance
I have been fighting this problem for months now. My performance under Samba
and XP has ben umbearable. The scenario is running Samba 2.2.7a under SuSE
8.0 as a PDC. The XP machine logs onto Samba and the roaming profiles are
downloaded then stops for 15 minutes or so. The network is verified 100Meg
full-duplex, FTP transfers between the machines are robust and so no
problems in connectivity. Any

[lld] RFC: Finding shared libraries on OpenBSD
On OpenBSD we still use the "classic" SunOS 4 shared library
versioning scheme where the major and minor number are part of the
library name (and recorded in DT_NEEDED entries). For example the
shared libc on the OpenBSD-current is named libc.so.89.2. With this
scheme, linker has to pick the pick the library with the highest major
and minor (within the highest major version); the

[lld] RFC: Finding shared libraries on OpenBSD
Hi Mark,
If we have to do this, or LLD doesn't work on OpenBSD, I think we need to
do this. But can I ask one question? I wonder why OpenBSD systems don't
have symbolic links unlike the other Unix-like systems in the first place.

Samba 4.2.14 Group Policy (GPO) sync error
Hello,
I think I really need some help on this.
Since Samba 4.2.11 upgrade my Windows 10 clients are unable to synchronize group
policies. I have asked about this already here
<https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2016-April/199226.html>. Now I
re-investigate the issue with Windows 10 1607 update and still face the same
issue which prevents me from rolling out this configuration in

Storing Profile remote on Samba PDC only works for one user
Hello,
actually I am trying to implement a samba PDC server with a LDAP backend
where user are authenticated with. Additionally the users' profiles
should be stored on it, whicht only works for one user, not the 3
other. The point is, I don't see the difference between them so it
should work for all or none.
This is what I have in my smb.conf regarding this:

Profile permissions issue? Samba and FDS problem
First some information on the system set up.
OS: CentOS 4.3
Samba 3.0.10
FDS 7.1
Samba is acting as a PDC for our network. We have both windows 2000 and
windows XP client machines. They are all joined to our domain. Everything
"seems" to be fine except that when a user logs into a machine they can not
make even simple changes to setting such as folder options (ie. view file
extensions).

Roaming Profile gets deleted
Hi there,
I try to move our W2K Domain to samba.
I managed to dump a list of the old users with its SID's and created
them on the samba domain which has the same sid like the old W2k domain.
Then the users should be able to use their old roaming profile without
changing the profiles sid.
This works if the computer which acesses the domain has already the
profile on its disk.

Roaming profiles not roamin :(
Hello folks!
I have a "small" problem configuring samba-3.0.9 (on Debian, if that
matters). My samba server acts like primary domain controller, and my
users can log to the domain. But, their profiles are not roaming (yes,
those users have roaming profile selected on every workstation, that's
not it). That is - they are not created on samba machine, but instead,
on every workstation

More problems with samba 3.0.23c and NT4
Hi everyone!
I have some trouble with samba 3.0.23 as PDC for NT4 workstations with SP6a.
I have upgraded from samba2.
1. The ntconfig.pol from the netlogon-share does'nt work. I get a prf1.tmp in the User-Profile-Folder and the policy wouldn't mix to
the registry. In the Event-Log I found an entry

XP roaming profile problem (access denied)
Hi! I was hoping someone had seen this problem, and might be able to
help me out with it; I've tried the suggestions I found in the mailing
lists and on web sites, to no avail. I'm running samba 3.0.2 on RHEL 3,
and XP clients seem to occasionally have problems saving the roaming
profile, resulting in error messages and the use of the local profile.
The problem is when renaming

Guild Wars 2 hangs on start
Hi,
I would appreciate any help with getting Guild Wars 2 to run on Debian Linux (KDE, testing). When I hit the "Play" button on the start screen, the music starts to play but the GW2 window only shows the underlying console window. It just sits there and has to be killed manually.

Thanks for any help.

[LLVMdev] Possible change to ExecutionEngine::create()
Hi Rob,
Can you comment on exactly what the problem is you want to solve? Is
it a performance issue with LoadLibraryPermanently, or do you simply
not want the external symbols to be resolved from within the JIT?

Samba 4.2.14 Group Policy (GPO) sync error
Hi Louis,
Many many thanks for your very quick and comprehensive reply.
I also found this thread here
<https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2016-July/201471.html>
Unfortunately none of the suggestions seem to entirely resolve the issue.
As a first work-around I have inserted

to my smb.conf and re-started Samba.

Hi,
I need help to fix a problem with Samba as PDC and Folder redirection on a

know any better place. So if you have suggestion, tell me.
