Print Sharing problems. (Samba/CUPS, windows client)
Hi, I've spent way too many hours trying to make this work and have hit a wall. Hoping that someone can provide me with the clue that resolves this issue.... I'm unable to print from a domain connected windows XP client to our samba server, apparently due to credential/access restrictions. The Samba Server is running on Debian linux, and is version 3.0.14a. It's LDAP

Problems copying some files from windows to linux
Hi, This might not be entirely samba server related, but the problem I am experiencing is affecting a planned implementation of a new Samba Server, and from the smbmount man page, it appears that this is the recommended list to reqest help - so hopefully someone might be able to assist :-). I am running a Debian Linux machine (kernel 2.6.0) with Samba 3.0.1 which will soon be replacing an

How to apply a system of ordinary differential equations to a cell grid?
It seems that the method `iteration` in the function `ode` can be useful in my case: > Method "iteration" is special in that here the function func should > return the new value of the state variables rather than the rate of > change. How to apply a system of ordinary differential equations to a cell grid?
Hello, I am developing an agent-based model to simulate the spread of infectious diseases in heterogeneous landscapes composed of habitat polygons (or clumps of connected cells). To simplify the model, I consider a habitat grid (or raster) containing the polygon ID of each cell. In addition, I have epidemiological parameters associated with each polygon ID. At each time step, the parameter values

Howto setup printing with Windows XP Clients, Cups and samba..
Hi there, slowly but sure I'm getting absolutely insane with the printer setup on a Samba PDC. I got Cups to work. It works like a charm if someone installs a printer via the cups interface. It also prints in a good quality. On Samba side I even have those "Printers and fax devices" in the visible shares. And if i install CUPS6 Drivers manual on the target system i can even print on

abline; setting plot limits
Relatively new user with a question regarding abline. I want to draw a st. line fit to some data but I want the line to span the range of the x-data and NOT the plot limits. In short the line spans xmin to xmax(of plot axis) but I want it to span xmin to xmax (of x data). Can this but done with abline or do I have to use lines and construct the line from a+bx? problems with print$
Hi All, I finally signed up for the list after years of using Samba successfully - a testament to the quality of Samba. Yet now I have a problem with the point-and-print functionality. I am able to authenticate against my server (Solaris 8, Samba 3.0.7, OpenLDAP 2.1.25) as user 'chuck' in my LDAP directory and browse the shares, but when I right-click on the printer and select

But lately after installing an existing HP 4050 laserjet printer in cups and samba (with cupsaddsmb and the cups windows drivers), pdf documents will not print on this

Samba 3.2.0 using CUPS -- Print Spooler not clearing out printed jobs
I'm running Samba 3.2.0-17.fc9 as a PDC, serving a printer using CUPS. When I look at the state of the printer under Windows XP I see that jobs which have completed are still listed. When I look in the printing/<printer>.tdb, there are all the jobs. There is nothing left in /var/spool/samba. There are only the completed control files in /var/spool/cups. It appears either that Samba

Hi, I'm sharing a CUPS printer via samba (3.3.1) on Arch Linux to allow various OS'es to print. Everything used to work fine, both Windows and Linux clients were able to print, until now. The Linux clients (running CUPS) are all reporting "NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND opening remote spool <job name>" when attempting to print. The Windows clients cannot print
