Samba 3b3, cups117 and point-n-click blues. Looks like Samba bug? HELP! part 2
I've attempted to do the same using Win2k's APW. At first it looks like it's going to work, but at the very last part it gives an access denied error. It gives the errors AFTER it copies all the files to the server... Here's the log.spleen (my win2k is spleen): unix_clean_name [W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF] [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(580) unix_clean_name

Lost setting up IAXmodem after drive crash
A few weeks ago, I lost my Trixbox that was all set up with Hylafax and IAXmodem. I am trying to set it up for email > procmail > faxmail > iaxmodem > asterisk >sipext > ATA (with attached fax). I have followed all the instructions on creating the IAX extension and configuring the IAXmodem config file. I can see the connection in Asterisk: iax2 show peers Name/Username

"conversion error" and NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hi list, sorry in case I do ask a FAQ, but I did in fact find some more mentions of a problem like this, but always without a solution. I upgraded our Samba server today (from 2.10/SuSE to 3.0x/Debian) and have problems with some of the clients (Windows XP). When trying to access a share from these clients, I get a NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE, and increasing the log level reveals several occurences

G726-16 passthrough...
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has benn able to successfully get g726-16 passthrouhg to work? I am wanting to use this codec instead of g729 as I'm running out of DSPs using a high complexity codec on the Ciscos. I would think it would work just as g729 does, which has been working fine for me, but it does not. G726-32 does work great however, but it's like Asterisk doesn't

ACL special permission
Hello everybody, I'm currently using samba with complete ACL support and windows domain integration. This work fine, but i've a question regarding "special permission". On windows, when you take a look to the security tab for a directory (not file), you see all effective permission trough "special permission/advance permission. Is there a way to don't have this option

ACLs on 2.2.0-alpha3 with Solaris
Hi I'm trying out samba-2.2.0-alpha3 on a Solaris 8 box. When I look at the ACL for a file from a windows 2000 client I see the ACL, but the usernames only appear as SIDs, rather than names. What can I do (if anything) to have things map symbolically? Both the Samba server and the Windows 2000 client are members of an NT4 domain. The entries I get look like:

Newbie clustering/classification question
My laboratory is measuring the abundance of various proteins in the blood from either healthy individuals or from individuals with various diseases. I would like to determine which proteins, if any, have significantly different abundances between the healthy and diseased individuals. Currently, one of my colleagues is performing an ANOVA on each protein with MS Excel. I would like to analyze

idmap problems
Many thanks Rowland. Yes, I don't understand idmaps, but I _think_ I'm getting it. I have added the gid of 60002 for Domain Admins and undertaken some 'chgrp' tasks. I've now got a domain member with shares that presents the correct ownership. All looks good. I'm still slightly confused why I have two ranges within my member smb.conf: idmap config * : backend = tdb

Patch for addition of Cyberpower RMCARD100, 201, 202, 301 (snmp mib)
I did a bunch of work on this today. It should be all set to go. This patch is to add support for the Cyberpower RMCARD snmp cards. I basically copied the driver for bestpower, changed the name and updated the mib map. I have this running on two separate systems (two separate ups's) and it looks good. The only thing I could not figure out was updating the Makefile.am (my aclocal/libtools

Shares stopped working for groups
Hi, I have a ClearOS 7.8 system which is running samba-4.10.4-11.el7_8.x86_64, and it upgraded to this just over a week ago (probably not relevant). A couple of days ago all the group shares failed. I discovered that if I switched them to the built-in group "allusers" the share worked fine. It fails for any user-defined group but it used to work. Samba is running as a PDC and the

Failed to connect NT workstation to Samba2.0alpha8
Hi Folks, I downloaded Samba2.0alpha8 from Samba site. Compiled it and installed it on the Solaris 2.6 unix box. I set up domain logon for both Windows 98 clients and WinNT. There is no problem logging on from Windows98 and the shares are all working alright. Then, I followed Samba NTDOM FAQ and add the NT workstation name into /etc/passwd and smbpasswd (using smbpasswd -a -m

Here's another easy rsync question (I am trying to make sense of some stuff): Let's say I have this burp file, which I set the follow uid/gid: raub@kushana-13>ls -l burp -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody4 noaccess 44800 Feb 18 13:07 burp raub@kushana-14> When I move it to katri, since it does not have those uid/gid defined, it just spits them out as the appropriate numbers (that were

Version 3.7p1 of OpenSSH can't be compiled on IRIX 6.5 because the file openbsd-compat/inet_ntoa.h is missing. It is possible to compile successfully using this file out of version 3.6.1p2. View Workgroup Computers is Slow to Come Up
What would cause the "View Workgroup Computers" to be slow in coming up. It will take from 10 seconds to 1 minute. A am using Windows XP hosts with an SCO OpenServer using Samba in a workgroup, and Samba is the preferred master (os 255) with WINS support. I have the Browser service turned off on all Windows clients. Thanks, Rick Cone Secure Payment Systems
