Samba rpm and /var/*/samba directory for .tdb files
Hi, I use CentOS4 (RHEL4) and it seems that I was using /var/lib/samba for storing the .tdb files. Then I compilled the fedora .src.rpm from samba.org and it points now to /var/cache/samba I will build tonight the .rpm from the .tar.gz and see which directory samba choose for the .tdb files in CentOS4. Anyone can confirm this list of distro/.tdb directory: Fedora: /var/cache/samba CentOS4:

ipsec and Centos3.7
Hi, I want to connect to a Cisco Pix using ipsec. In RH9 I was able to compile openswan 2.4.0 and use it, but in Centos 3.7 I can apply the openswan klips patch. I noted that the centos 3.7 kernel has a ipsec patch from redhat, does this NETKEY patch works with openswan? What ipsec solution do I have in centos 3.7? Should I use another kernel? many thanks Oliver -- Oliver Schulze L.

smbstatus -B segmentation fault
When using Samba 3.0.23b (slightly old, I know) on CentOS 4.4, smbstatus -B fails with a segmentation fault. smbstatus works, and tdbdump is able to dump brlock.tdb and locking.tdb without any errors (which is not what I expected). Here's the backtrace (non-ASCII characters replaced with 'X'): #0 0x0017fa2c in memcpy () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6 #1 0x0029b19f in tdb_write

Large Roaming profiles
Hi, I have large size Roaming profiles in Win2k and Samba. Samba 2.2.2 is acting as a PDC. Does Win2k load all the files from scratch from the samba server everytime a user log in? Or does Win2k or Samba provides some sort of diff mecanism, so that only modified files are loaded from the Samba server(to speed think up)? Migrating from mbox to maildir, which converter is compatible with dovecot
Hi, I'm testing/debuging the migration from mbox to maildir in a mailserver running Dovecot 1.0alpha5. I migrated all 472715 emails(in a test server) and later noted that dovecot could not get the same flags/status of the emails as in the mbox. I was using perfect_maildir.pl and I think its not dovecot fault. Seems to me that perfect_maildir.pl convert the emails in a way that dovecot could
