Missing catalog by creating new user
Hi,
I'm actually evaluating samba 4 to replace my AD domain. I managed to
install a first ad controller. The I installed a second one which
synchronize to the first one. Everything goes well.
I wanted to test what happens if one controler is down. I stopped the first
one and tried to create a new user on the second one. I got an error
message explaining that the global catalog cannot be

Samba integration with AD
I know this question has been posed over and over (and over) again, but
I'm at my wit's end. I've dug into the Samba docs, Gentoo specific docs,
and PAM docs, and Googled the heck out of it...
In any event, I'm running Gentoo 2006.0 (just built) running kernel
2.6.15 and Samba 3.0.21b. I'm 'trying' to set up a simple file server
with SSO capabilities to a 2K AD

Shares mount on linux but not windows?
Curious. I have a gentoo server running 3.0.23d that simply serves out
shares. It is a domain member, but not a pdc. From another linux server,
I can mount up shares without a hitch. But from a windows box, I keep
getting prompted for credentials.
I am not seeing anything substantial in the logs.

Powercom driver patch
Hello everybody!
I'm trying to use nut-2.4.1 with brand new UPS Powercom Imperial
IMD-825AP USB. I've faced a problem that the driver powercom despite
specifying type=IMP automatically re-detects the UPS as "KIN" and then
interprets raw data incorrectly. The same problem was reported by
other Powercom users on the official support forum (
http://forum.pcm.ru ).
I suppose the

No-no, there is no an old 0x0004 or new 0x0004 device, I guess that we
have to handle general case for all 0d9f:0x0004 devices.

A couple of questions
Hi,
I''ve been looking at Btrfs and have a couple of naive questions that don''t
seem to be answered on the wiki or in the articles I''ve read on the
filesystem.
First: discovering a file''s checksum value.
Here''s the scenario: software is writing some data as a fresh file. This
software happens to know (a priori) the checksum of this data; for

[PATCH v2v] Add ALT support
Patch supplied by Mikhail Gordeev, posting for review.
I have compile tested it and checked the code and it looks all
fine to me, so ACK from my point of view. I did not actually
run it because I don't have an ALT Linux install, but it
doesn't seem as if it would affect any other distro.

For Extracting gridded netcdf data into output files where each file representing the individual grid
Hi,
I have to calculate Extemes, for that I wrote a script for extracting IMD
Tmax data for one year. I need to get output files where each file
representing the individual grid with daily values.Since, my data is of
0.5*0.5 resolution, I need to get 3721(61*61=3721) output files. But, I am
only getting 3482 output files.
I think the problem is with naming the output files using paste command,

Powercom IMP detection fix
Hi there.
I found out a bug in Powercom IMP/IMD series detection. Fix is obvious
(attached).
Else I own Powercom IMP-825AP and can provide a debuging support.
With best regards, Alexey

It would be nicer to have few more details in the commit message
and/or comments in the code, as there are things that definitely
deserve explanations.
Also, IMHO, it would be nice to have it split in different parts:
1) a simple patch that adds the ALT_family, in
