Indicator Species analysis; trouble with multipatt
Hi Ansley It looks good to me but I did not run the analysis as I am too lazy to install "indicspecies". The inclusion of the raw data is a great help. Power Failures or Spikes
Hi all, My server is connected to a UPS but whenever there is a power failure or spike it seems that once all the clients come back up they cannot connect. I have to restart the server each time. This is no hardship but I was just wondering if anybody had the same problem and if so and they fixed it, how? Thanks Tom Ansley

ACL: some maybe stupid questions
Hi. I want to use ACL on my RH-9.0 box (x86), so I got ext3 ACL patch from http://acl.bestbits.at/ and tried to apply it to the kernel that ships with RH (2.4.20-8). The patching fails on some vm file so I got a vanila kernel 2.4.20, apply the patch and compile it. This works fine. Also RH-9.0 precompiled Samba 2.2.7 works fine with ACL. I connected to my share with WinXP and do some testing

Documentation for the PHP OO wrapper
I finally had a chance to spend some time on Olly's idea about generating documentation for the object-oriented PHP wrapper http://www.oligarchy.co.uk/xapian/patches/xapian9.phps >Another way to approach it might be to postprocess Doxygen's XML output >(which would allow mechanical changes to match PHP syntax). > > I wrote an xslt script to test the idea (It is one of the

samba user priveleges
Hi, I'm kinda new to samba so forgive my ignorance. I want to set up users so that depending on the user you would have access - read, write or read/write both. I know that is is possible to specify whether the drive is read only, write etc. So is it possible to set priveleges at the user level? thanx. Abhishake

RH9 to RH Enterprise: PDC migration from one operating system to another
I had to migrate to RedHat Enterprise Linux ES 3.0. Actually I had to do is a complete OS install, NOT an upgrade. What this means is that I had to reinstall Samba and configure it. I'm using Samba 3.0.4-6.3E (a Redhat rpm) with smbpasswd as password backend. My pourpose was to be seamless to the end users. Without changes at PC users. I will be using the same physical server, but in

Traktion
This one may well be the first fully capable audio/midi DAW program to work in both Windows and Linux. This is because it is not based on Microsoft's framework. I got the freebie while this offer was around. Version 2 is supposed to come out soon. (I presently use Cakewalk Home Studio--Sonar's not so little sister and a lot of bang for the buck. I have gotten used to drawing

[PATCH] drop root privileges on solaris, request for testing
Hello all, this patch allows master process to drop more root priveleges under Solaris. My limited testing shows that code works, but I'm not sure that defined privilege set is permissive enough for dovecot. Unfortunately I have no root access to our Solaris servers to really test it. So if someone is ready to test this patch please do it :) Best regards. -------------- next part

SAMBA AD VFS:Recycle bad permissions
Hello dancers, I upgraded SAMBA to version 4.9 in three little companies. Then we have found an error with permissions, on shared discs where is VFS:recycle enabled, new created folders seem to be ok, but new files are writable only from owner. Getfacl gets back mask r-- so effective rights are changed. Shared discs without VFS:recycle work fine, and if I disable VFS:recycle on shared

PCI passthrough troubles
Hello, I have been struggling as of late to successfully configure a pci passthrough using libvirt with kvm. Hoping someone can shed some light on the problem. Overall my experience with virtualization limited is so please forgive. The guest runs fine till passthrough is configured. I am using virt-manager. This has been tried on both a Fedora17 x86_64 and Arch Linux x86_64 build with pretty much
