Migrating a samba PDC to a new one
Hi. Can anyone give me some help on migrating my Samba PDC from old hardware to a new box? Old hardware is running RedHat 9, with Samba 3.0.2a-1. New hardware is running Fedora Core 4 with Samba 3.0.14a-2. Old (fully working) PDC is using tdbsam backend for passwords. For simplicity, I'd like to do the same on the new one, although I could also move to LDAP it that's what's

Gamma Test package
Hi, I have written a Gamma Test package. The Gamma Test (GT) is a non-parametric non-linear modelling tool that estimates the variance of the noise in an input/output dataset (including time series). The GT was recently given a rigourous mathematical proof in the Royal Society. All the papers on this work to date can be found at Antonia Jone's (Professor of Neural and Evolutionary

Profile creation
SAMBA VERSION: 2.2.4 ERROR(S): Profile Creation I have recently been assigned to create a Samba PDC. Earlier in the week, I thought I was successful. I was able to log in, load (or create) the test user's .ntprofile, etc. Went home that night, happy as could be. Came back the next day - and nothing was working correctly. The systems could not find the domain. The domain was not

"No such file" error when reading Win98 profiles
Hi all, I'm having an odd error with Samba 2.2.5 and I'm wondering if anyone can give me a hand with it. About a month ago, I upgraded from Samba 2.2.1 to 2.2.5 on RedHat 7.2 and, since then, my Win98 users have been receiving "No such file or directory" errors during login. The upgrade was installed using John Terpstra's RH 7.2 RPM package. Users are set up with roaming

Boxplot issue
Dear R-users, I have a data frame containing 2 colums: column 1 is the patient numbers (totally 36 patients), column 2 is patient's response values (each patient has 100 response values). If I produce a boxplot for each patient on the same graph in order to compare them against each other then the boxplots are very small. How can I instead of creating one graph containing 36 boxplots,

Package for variable clustering
Dear R users: is there a package, similar to varclus in SAS or varclus in S, ported or written for R? Also, is there any other package in R that was designed for grouping the variables under different measures of distance (in cases where data is non-Gaussian, autocorrelated, and so on). importing shapefiles into spatstat
Dear R users, I am using spatstat to analyze point patterns (tree locations). I would like to import the shapefile with the study area polygons (six total) into R and use it to create the window for the spatstat analysis. I do not simply want to use a rectangle because the study areas spread out over 40000 ha. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Charlotte Reemts Charlotte

Help with filing a [maybe] ZFS/mmap bug.
Hi All, I have what I think is a ZFS related bug. Unfortunately my simplest test case is a bit cumbersome and I haven't definitively proven that the problem is ZFS related. I'm hoping for some feedback on how to move forward. Quick background: I rip my CD's using grip and produce flac files. I tag the music using Musicbrainz' Picard and transcode it to mp3's within Picard

question related to S-Plus
Dear r-help, Having used S-Plus for many years, it has been suggested to me that I could benefit from learning R. A question to this end, though. Would all of my existing S-Plus arrays, functions, and so on have to be re-created from scratch in R, or is there a way to copy them into the .Rdata directory? The answer to this question has major implications for the extent to which R is

No Admin-Rights in SMB-PDC-Domain
Hello, I've build a domain with Samba 3.0.23 and sucessfully joined this domain with a Windows-XP-Machine. I can log in to that machine as User "Root", wich is in the Group "Domain Admins" (rid=512). But I have no admin-rights on that machine. Also, normal User can not log in over the Remotesession (RDP). Can anybody help me to figure out why? Here is my smb.conf:
