Random Effects Model with Interacting Covariates
Hi
I have been asked by a colleague to perform a statistical analysis
which uses random effects - but I am struggling to get this to work
with nlme in R. Help would be very much appreciated!
Essentially, the data consists of:
10 patients. Each patient has been given three different treatments (on
three separate days). 15 measurements (continuous variable) have been
taken from each patient

pop3_lock_session question
Hello, I'm preparing to convert from qpopper + UW-IMAP to dovecot.
So far testing has gone very well. One problem we haven't figured
out is that long-running POP sessions keep the mailbox locked, so that
the MDA times out while trying to deliver. We're using "maildrop" as
our MDA if that matters.
We don't see this issue for dovecot IMAP sessions. During long-running

Problem accessing win2k3 shares -- permission denied!
Hi all,
I couldn't access win2k3 server shares from my FC2 box. It's got default Fedora Core 2 installation.
Kernel: 2.6.5-1.358
Samba: samba-3.0.3-5
I've tried with both smbfs and cifs options. This is what happens,
With smbfs:
$ mount -t smbfs -o username=admin //ServerIP/sharename /mnt/sharename
password:
$
$ ls /mnt/sharename
ls: /mnt/sharename: Permission denied

Regarding multiple writes to a file in samba server
Hi all,
I have samba server in the following scenario:
Samba server sits on IBM AIX 5.1 and serves some
shares. There are almost 100 users configured to use
these shares, with security=user option. Accessing
these shares works fine. Now, the problem comes when
updating files. I've tested with a database file
(codebase database). If more than one user tries to
update a record in that file,

Statistical Questions: finding differentially expressed genes
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to find a way to do this in excel to tell me which genes are the
most differentially expressed. Sorry, i couldn't find excel forum section in
nabble. However, if it is in R it is fine. This is a microarray data, and it
has been normalized. According to Dov Stekel in Microarray, i will need to
calculate log ratio (control-treatment). Once you have the log ratio,

UNEXPECTED SOFT UPDATE INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY
Sep 21 08:57:54 belle fsck: /dev/ad4s1d: 1 DUP I=190
Sep 21 08:57:54 belle fsck: /dev/ad4s1d: UNEXPECTED SOFT UPDATE INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY.
Ok, so I ran fsck manually (even with -y), but yet it refuses to clear/fix
whatever to the questions posed as fsck runs. What does this all mean?
Thanks,
-Clint

Windows 2008 R2 / one way trust / Samba
Here is our configuration - we have a Windows 2003 domain I'll call
'corporate' and a Windows 2008 domain I'll call 'lab'. There is a
one-way trust (users can log into 'lab' machines using 'corporate'
creds). We have a linux box running samba that is a member of 'lab'.
Users log into their Windows machines using a 'corporate' credential and

cross-realm Kerberos trust with a third Windows domain
Here is our scenario. We have a Windows 2008 domain I'll call CORP and
an MIT realm I'll call REALM. There is a one-way trust (AES enabled)
such that users in the CORP domain can access REALM resources. If I log
into a CORP workstation, I can access REALM resources as expected
(including samba).
We have a third Windows 2008 domain I'll call LAB. If I log into a LAB
