similar to: Problem joining a samba domain

So I was having problems getting a machine to join to a samba PDC running on Solaris 9 using the bundled LDAP server. Ill skip all my previous troubleshooting steps here (Ive tried just about anything and everything). Anyway - so I deleted all of the attributes for samba in the directory and ran the idealx populate script. It seemed to go just fine (the other scripts seem to work fine too).

I'm using Solaris 8, samba 3, kerberos and openldap. I'm anexing: log.smbd, smb.conf, krb5.conf, nsswitch.conf and the ktpass command in AD. Somebody can help me? First some information on the system set up. OS: CentOS 4.3 Samba 3.0.10 FDS 7.1 Samba is acting as a PDC for our network. We have both windows 2000 and windows XP client machines. They are all joined to our domain. Everything "seems" to be fine except that when a user logs into a machine they can not make even simple changes to setting such as folder options (ie. view file extensions).

I am using Samba PDC with OpenLDAP2 and smbldap-tools. As part of my logon.bat, I call a script called ifmember.exe. This script can list out the groups a user is a member of. Hello all, I have a very large file (280k lines) containing three comma separated variables. The first variable is a 0 or 1 depicting a pass or fail. The other two are X and Y coordinates. Is there a good way I can represent this data in a chart/plot form other than using a 3d histogram? I log on the domain as admin user(root), and theres a pub share, on witch everyone needs to have permission to create / modify files, but when I change or create a file, only root can change the file, no one else. And then i need to go to server to chgrp users * -R and chown nobody * -R to allow others users to change the file.

Hello list The Samba Howto Collection repeatedly asserts that by setting the sticky bit on directories any files created in those directories will be created with the owner set to that of the directory (for example, see http://samba.mirror.ac.uk/samba/docs/man/howto/AccessControls.html#id2541262).
